Hello guys, I'm at my wits end.. hope someone can help.. this is the deal. I have setup a linux box to serve as a "gateway" for our internal lan. Running 2.0.34 slakware. I have 2 nic cards.. One for our "internal" lan (192.168.2.0) and the "external" lan..I have gotten the OS to see both of them, but when trying to get DHCP to work with both, it kept barfing..

Rsyncing without RSH or SSH ?
Rsh should be pretty easy to do. I don't think it has changed since before RH5.2 vintage. Otherwise, your best bet would be NFS. I think RH5.2 is new enough for NFSv3 but I don't remember for sure. Alternatively maybe you know someone with a newer SCSI controller. I have several PCI ones and even a PCI-X one I haven't used in years. On 03/14/2017 12:30 AM, Philip Rhoades via

NT domains and 1.9.18pSomething
Hi, I'm trying to replace an NT SBS box with a RH5.2 box, and things are proceeding quite well, save a few samba troubles. I've found that the NT4WS (SP4) clients can log in if told to use a samba machine as a "workgroup", but that they can not find a domain controller if told to use "domain" logons. (They have the registry password encryption hack installed.)

Update: WARNING: --rsh or -e option ignored when connecting to rsyncdaemon]
the --pasword-file= option is only for passing a password to a rsync server, as you have set up with the rsync --daemon process. Your rsyncd.conf file is fine, too. The problem is that you aren't calling your rsync daemon from your commandline. You are trying to connect via rsync to host as axlink and start a 'rsync --sender' process, to transfer data within the ssh process.

[LLVMdev] Commutability of X86 FMA3 instructions.
Hi Elena, Thank you very much for looking in to that. I'll go ahead and remove the isCommutable flag from those instructions, since it sounds like that's the right thing to do. I would still like to change the default from the 231 variant to 213 too, as this will reduce code-size for accumulator-style loops. I have at least one benchmark that shows significant speedups when this change

installing online help (PR#423)
When I attempt to install the online help for R.99 on Intel RH5.2, I get the following message Substitution loop at /usr/local/src/R/etc/Rdconvlib.pl line 1589, <rdfile> chunk 171 and it stops after a few files. Each time I rerun it, it gets a bit further and gives a different number at the end. I commented out the line 1589 and it works.

Computer Accounts
Hi, I've just migrated NT domain to samba+ldap - works great, but there is one thing I don't quite understand: What is the reason to have a 'computer account' on host UNIX serving samba? I know, that NT PDC needs ID+password for each computer within its domain. But samba TDB or LDAP pwdb backend look quite sufficient. I don't see a reason to have those exposed (shadowed) as

[LLVMdev] LLVM ARM VMLA instruction
Hi all, Thanks for the info. Few observations from my side : LLVM : cortex-a8 vfpv3 : no vmla or vfma instruction emitted cortex-a8 vfpv4 : no vmla or vfma instruction emitted (This is invalid though as cortex-a8 does not have vfpv4) cortex-a8 vfpv4 with ffp-contract=fast : vfma instruction emitted ( this seems a bug to me!! If cortex-a8 doesn't come with vfpv4 then vfma instructions

USRMGR Adding Users
I am having troubles getting the user manager to add users. It gives me an incorrect parameter. I am using samba 3.0 final. I am also using the tdbsam backend. I noticed in pdbedit it does not have the [u ] under account flags. It adds the user, but it does not show up in the user manager for domains (but it gets put inside of the pwdb and /etc/passwd) here is my config. log

SPAM: Get Rich NOW!!
Hello root@inet.hkg.com, It looks like someone, at your end, is leaking SPAM into the Samba list. The apparent source of this SPAM is <inet.hkg.com> which, unbelieveably, is a real address. They are then relay-raping the Singapore Network to get it into this list. After careful deliberation, I have conciously decided to forward this one message into the samba lists. All future SPAM

samba domain issue
:') I have a small block of addresses allocated by the ISP. In order to conserve those addresses, I have constructed a Linux box (2.0.33 SuSE 5.1) to do IP_masq. (Works wonderfully. SuSE is the best kept secret in the Linux community.) Problem is related to Samba. I MUST be able to relocate NT clients behind my Linux system. I have tried several different methods of configuration for
