I am getting "sessionsetup failed: ERRSRV - ERRbadpw (...)
Could someone help me to connect FreeBSD 3.1 Unix (& Samba) with Win 98se (with all updates posted)? The error has to do with ...(Bad password - name/password pair in a Tree Connect or Session Setup are invalid.). I have read till my eyes are falling out. I have done the diagnosis and all works except the password problem. My Win box has the Samba Server in its network neighbourhood, etc.

smbclient does not accept passwords.
I am trying to get Samba 2.0.3 running on a Slackware 3.6 (2.0.36) Linux system. When I do smbclient -L localhost it connects and then produces a "password:" prompt. Printing Problems w/Samba on AIX (2nd Try)
Hello all, I have been running Samba on various versions of UNIX for quite a while now without ever encountering any major problems. However, I have now run into a problem that has me stumped. I am running Samba 2.0.5a on an RS/6000 running AIX. Up until a month or so ago we were running on AIX version 4.2.1. At that time we upgraded to 4.3.2 and Samba continued to function properly.

NT domain: errors in diagnostic tests 3 and 7+
Hi, I have an NT domain to which I have added a Samba 2 server. I've successfully caused the Samba server to join the domain. My aim is to have shares which anyone in the domain can access without a password. However it is not working; either (a) the Windows 95/98 clients are being prompted for a password (and no password is accepted); or (b) they are getting "The share name was not

Can't authenticate using ARGON2ID crypt scheme from doveadm pw w/rounds != default
The reason it fails is because auth process runs out of memory and there is a bug in libsodium which causes it to crash in this scenario. The fix is to do service auth { ? vsz_limit = 0 # or 2G at least } Aki On 26.09.2018 09:12, Keith Amidon wrote: > I'm using dovecot version 2.3.2.1 (0719df592) and trying to use the > ARGON2ID crypt scheme for authentication using the passdb

Can't authenticate using ARGON2ID crypt scheme from doveadm pw w/rounds != default
I'm using dovecot version 2.3.2.1 (0719df592) and trying to use the ARGON2ID crypt scheme for authentication using the passdb passwd-file driver. My passdb config is very simple: ??? passdb { ????? driver = passwd-file ????? args = username_format=%u <path-to-file-here> ??? } If I generate a password this way: ??? doveadm pw -s ARGON2ID -p 'This is a test' I get a crypt

Configuration Problems
Hello all I need some help understanding what is failing with my Samba installation. I compiled Samba 2.0.6 on a Sparc Ultra-II Solaris 2.6, using GCC version 2.8.1. I have read in some of the docs that there may be some support for shadow passwords but could not find a definition regarding shadow in any of the compile scripts. The SMB and NMB processes are running as deamons. I am unable

smbpasswd fails on Samba 2.0.3, HPUX 10.20
I have been unable to make smbpasswd work on my new Samba version 2.0.3 (HPUX 10.20). The smb.conf was modified from a working version on Linux (version 1.9.18p8). The relevant (I hope) output from smbpasswd, smb.log and testparms follow below. Are the log messages about "Couldn't set effective gid to -24 currently set to (real=0,eff=0)" and "Can't become connected

ERRSRV Non-specific error code
Hi We have version 1.9 on HPUX 10:20 trying to copy from win2000 (just upgraded from winNT). My observations seem to indicate that smallish files cannot be retrieved with get but can with mget, whilst largeish files cannot be retrieved with mget but can with get. The mget results in a truncated files (81679 bytes). This does not make a lot of sense to me. I will appreciate hearing from anyone

HELP: problem getting Samba to connect - "ERRSRV - ERRinvnetname"?
Dear list readers: I've installed the most recent Samba from source on my Redhat Linux server. The simple file share I've made shows up, the machine pings correctly, and does ftp and apache fine, but won't let anyone login to Samba. For example: $ smbclient '//WWW.PSYCH.UDEL.EDU/SIMPLE/' -U me added interface ip=128.175.41.164 bcast=128.175.41.255 nmask=255.255.255.0

kernel error smb_errno: class ERRSRV, code 91 from command 0x32
Hi, I have a samba +ldap PDC running on mandrake 10.0 the server is running great except for the error mesage in the kernel log, whic I think causes the system to crash after some time, how much time is needed is unknown, but it seems to get faster with increasing user, as this was a first attempt I first tried it with only less than 10 users, and it the server would go on for more than 3
