NT ACL's
I've been trying to use the NT ACL's which have been added to Samba. While
it's very nice to be able to view the settings, I've noticed that it accepts
changes made from NT Explorer's permissions property page, but the changes
are not actually made. Am I doing something wrong or is this a limitation of
the current implementation of this feature? It would be extremely nice for

Samba 2.0.6 Interfaces
We're had some recurring problems with nmbd's on Solaris 2.7 and Irix 6.5
failing to renew their WINS registrations in a timely manner causing the
records to become tombstoned. While we've solved it by issuing "pkill" and
"killall", respectively, of nmbd nightly from root's crontab, I wanted to
alert the authors and other administrators to the problem so similar

UNIX local accounts not being authenticated
Greetings,
I am running Samba 2.0.6 onn my Solaris 7 box.
It's running well, except; I can't seem to get local UNIX accounts to
work.
All my users in my NIS database get authenticated without a problem,
but since I want to give access to some shares without creating an NIS,
thereby creating a local machine account, it prompts for a password and
is denied.
Access is given, to Windows

Problems with Samba 2.0.6 under Solaris 7
We've inadvertently discovered a bug in the client_name function when our
dns was temporarily damaged. We have a "hosts allow" function that has IP
addresses only to contrain mounts to within our network. When clients would
attempt to connect, if their reverse IP lookup failed - in theory just to
log the name of the connecting host, the originating IP address was being
mangled and

Configuration Questions
These seem to be outside the scope of the standard documentation so I figured I'd see if I get a response.
I've donned my asbestos suit in case virtual flame throwers are deployed... ;)
1. There are two parameters "nis homedir" and "homedir map" that seem locked to NIS although it would be extremely nice it they just worked in conjunction with automount/autofs

Samba 2.2.4 and Solaris 8
I'm having a couple of problems with Samba 2.2.4 on Solaris 8.
First problem - Using gcc 2.95.2, everything comes out OK, but shared
libraries seem to fail at install phase. The output indicates that they're
non-existent.
Second problem - VFS examples, audit and recycle. They build OK, but there
are all sorts of undefined references at runtime.
Could these two issues be due to the use of

Bug with Ajax.Autocompleter in Safari 2.0.3?
Hello All,
I''ve run across something that looks like a bug and wanted to throw
it out there for anyone else''s input before I submit a bug report and
patch. This is only observed in Safari 2.0.3 with Mac OS X 10.4.5 - I
haven''t tried any other versions of Safari.
I''ve got 2 fields:
text input 1
text input 2 with autocomplete
If you:

Safari 2.0.3 Effect.appear Note
Ok, the Problem is a bit confusing.
If there is set a float attribute the Element gets hidden after Effect.appear.
example:
<a href="#" onclick="new Effect.appear(''demo'')">Click</a>
<div style="display: none; float:left;">
Appear!
</div>
If you need a float a solution is shown at the wiki.

Samba 2.0.3 problem
Hello,
This morning my users started complaining that they could not log in to
the network. When trying to log in people get a long pause and then a
message that the password was wrong, or there was no machine to
authenticate them. When I check the logs I get the following errors:

access denied with Samba 2.0.3 on Solaris 7
I have a problem with Samba 2.0.3 on Solaris 7. We use an multi-user
NTrigue Server, based on NT3.5.1, as an application server for running
windows applications on Sun workstations. All workstations are connected
to an NIS-, File- and application server running under Solaris 7, host
name "enterprise". When a UNIX user starts NTrigue the user logs in to
the PDC server based on NT4.0, SP4.
