Debian bug#604245: Syslinux fails (does not receive key presses on Sony vaio Z12C5E)
Hi,
Does this report ring a bell here? I didn't check, but the image should
carry an isohybridized 4.02 version of isolinux. The working (lenny)
version is 3.71.
Thanks,
Feri.

ipp2p patch for kernel 2.6.17.4
Hello!
Our dormitory has a linux router w/ two DSL links to the Internet; we used
ipp2p (http://ipp2p.org/) for filtering peer to peer traffic (as we can
not tell whether the content transferred using such p2p tools has been
obtained legally or not, so we block that traffic).
Up to yesterday we were using kernel 2.6.10.11, which worked perfectly
with ipp2p. Now we updated to kernel 2.6.17.4, and

ipmasqadm and default route on masqueraded host
Hi,
I''m running a Debian 2.2r2 on a university server with 3 public ip on one
ethernet card (but soon we will have three cards).
There''s a tunnel (implemented with vtund on a tun interface with local
address 192.168.1.10 and remote 192.168.1.20) from this server to another
server without public ip and behind a router.
I wanted to make the second server visible to the world, so

slow printing from firewalled/masqueraded clients
Printing to a samba print share from a client that is firewalled/
masqueraded is painfully slow. Seems the protocol requires the samba
server to make an initiating connection back to the SMB server on the
client which will of course fail on a firewalled/masqueraded client.
The problem is that the a print job hangs till this operation times out
causing printing to take several minutes for users.

ATA recommendation??
Hello,
I want to ask that if thee are some ATA decives that i can use to connect
mutliple analog phone lines to my VOIP system..
I mean for example an ATA device with 24 ports with 24 independent SIP
accounts.
For example for some dormitories in my area, i want to put an ATA device
and move existing lines to VOIP accounts.
Only problem is, if i dont give seperate SIP accounts for all ports, i can

Zombie (Masqueraded) Channel CDR Problem
Hi,
We are running asterisk 1.2.16 and need to connect two channels which
are already established. We are currently using app_meetme to achieve
that, but we are sometimes unhappy, as app_meetme provides functionality
that produces load that we do not need in our two party conferences. I
figured out that there is an alternative called app_changrab.

Re: Re: multiple isp. masqueraded machines somtimes work and somet
Why ping google ???
you should either ping your assigned external ip address ( make your config dhcp for your external ip address even if it is static )
( If your dsl link is up you sould have an address if not you should not )
If for some reson you cannot do that, ping your isp''s default gw or someone closer. With google you never know what is going on.
I do something similar with -m

Connection tracking on non-masqueraded interfaces.
I don''t think this has anything to do with Shorewall but I am not too
familiar with iptables stuff yet so I''m not sure.
Running Shorewall shorewall-1.4.9 on Mandrake Linux release 9.2 (FiveStar)
for i586 Kernel 2.4.22-37mdk.
Run "nmap -sP 192.168.x.x/24" (for example), where 192.168.x.x/24 is the LAN.
You can do this from a firewall/router, or even from a

File Close slow on heavy load !!
Hi folks,
We have tested SAMBA against Netware and found the performance better in
all parameters including File Creation/Open/Close, although the creation
speed was almost the same (is there any reason?).
But the other day we did some stress test on an application with SAMBA
(under Linux) as the fileserver. This will create a large number of files
(about 10000), all of these files going to

Performance of Route Hat
Hello guys,
normally, I try to avoid advertising my linux distribution in non-commercial
mailing lists (even though it''s 100% open source), but yesterday''s story amazed
me so much that I simply have to.
What happened yesterday? My largest customer switched from multiplexed DSL-Lines
(copper) to optics, and I did some quick measurements on the performance of
Route Hat.

default route with two nexthops and MASQUERADE problem
Dear all,
I''ve the following problem with routing + NAT:
If I''ve two ISP and I''m using two nexthop in default route with MASQUERADE on both ISP links, I see routing cache regenerated, but sometimes packets sent to a new link (after cache regeneration) uses wrong source address for masquerading.
Here is the config.
I''ve two links to outside via two

MASQUERADE problem again...
Dear list members,
Masquerading does''not work for me. This is a Mandrake Linux 10 system,
but I use another kernel, that included in the original distribution
(original: 2.6.3, now used 2.6.8 because of a lot of suck with OpenSwan
with kernels prior 2.6.4).
The problem seems to be similar or identical mentioned here:

Problems with Routing and Masquerading
Hi,
I have a linux box which balances load between two interfaces ( say WAN1
and WAN2). I have masquerading on for any request coming from LAN to the
outside world.
The setup is in such a way that WAN1 drops packets with source ip
belonging to WAN2''s network and viceversa.
For some strange reason, I find that packet coming out from the WAN
interface has source address of WAN2 and

I just upgraded from samba-1.9.15p8 to samba-1.9.18p8 on one of our Sun
