However for some reason other solaris applications seem to be consulting winbind for authentication even when it is not part of nsswitch.conf. i'm looking for an answer to the problem WIN98/samba-connection. It shows the same failure as shown by WinNT unless the change of Registry to EnablePlainPasswd. The server is running on Solaris 2.5.1 and the client is on Win NT 4.0 I am annoyed by the Control-M characters appearing in text files when the files are edited on Windows editors and viewed in vi on Sun machine.
