Loss of browsing with Samba 2.0.6
Hi, I recently upgraded from Samba 2.0.4 to Samba 2.0.6, and have had a problem with browsing. My Sun Ultra450 (Solaris7) is controlling all aspects of network browsing, and I had no problems before. Occasionally, all of Network Neighbourhood will disappear. This message appears in log.UNKNOWN in my samba logs: [1999/12/14 15:55:27, 2] nmbd/nmbd_elections.c:send_election_dgram(47)

POP3 getting previously delivered messages.
Hi All, This is my first post to this list. I have recently upgraded to dovecot version 2.2.10. 1. I have one POP3 user who does not want to delete his email on the server. 2. He has accumulated over 19000 messages, and the 'dovecot.uidlist' file has more than 19000 lines! 3. Occasionally now when he has received one or more new emails, and his email client does a

any way to use binary kernel modules + pxe booting?
So, I'm trying to boot using PXE + NFS root filesystem, to boot a kernel that can reimage machines. This has been quite successful for me, until just recently where I ran into a motherboard that had a broadcom ethernet chipset - the broadcom driver is binary only. I can boot a kernel using PXE and load the broadcom driver using a custom initrd, but don't know how to then NFS mount the root

Different Caller ID for each Zap Interface
Hi there, I'm wondering if there is a way to assign a different Caller ID to each Zap interface. I have 3 Digium X100P cards, and I'm sure there must be some way of configuring zapata.conf to allow each line to identify itself with a different Caller ID string. Many thanks, Steve -- Steve Foy | http://www.unite.net UNITE Solutions | Tel: 028 9077 7338

RE: Asterisk-Users digest, Vol 1 #3368 - 12 msgs
This message is in response to Flash operator problem. My op_server.pl seems to be same. I also created the variable.txt to the /var/www/html/panel folder and when I run htt://192.168.0.0/panel it just says at the bottom transferring data. I don't see anything on the screen. I also checked my manager.conf file. I was able to telnet into the manager interface and it's running fine. So I am

Making a call with sample.call
Hi there, I'm having some trouble with getting Asterisk to make a call, I think it should be quite easy, but anyway... Using the following file contents: ## Channel: Zap/3/<TEL NUMBER HERE> MaxRetries: 2 RetryTime: 60 WaitTime: 30 Context: phones Extension: 502 Priority: 1 ## Extension 502 is simply one that plays a sound back. When I dump this file into

SIP debug logs
This strikes me as something that should be really very simple to do, but I can't figure it out. Is there a way of logging all SIP debuging info to a file somewhere? It would help me greatly! Cheers, Steve -- Steve Foy | http://www.unite.net UNITE Solutions | Tel: 028 9077 7338

'Intercom' before call transfer
Hi there, Just wondering if there is a way to speak to the person you are transferring a call to before actually connecting them to the incoming call. E.g. "Hi, Colleague, I've got Bill from Microsoft on the line here... putting you through now" Then actually transfer the call. Does that make sense!? -- Steve Foy | http://www.unite.net UNITE Solutions | Tel: 028 9077

Calls dropping off
Hi, I've got a fairly working Asterisk setup, with a few minor glitches, one of which is very very irritating. Sometimes, during a call, the remote end just drops off. We're using software SIP phones (SJPhone) connecting to * then out through analogue lines with X100P cards. There is nothing in the logs and nothing on the console, the call just seems to 'go away'! Can anyone

NT and slow logon
Hi, still got the problem of NT slow logon, what am I doing wrong? This is the situation: Samba running on Unixware 2.1.1, SVR4 and RedHad. Win95 and smbclient in any unix works fine. A win NT machine sees the workgroup, but browsing to it takes a LONG time ( 3 or 4 minutes or so..) and when the machines appear ( redhat, unixware and SVR4 ) it again takes a lot of time to log on, after that

ROracle install problem
Hi, I am trying to install the ROracle package in a Linux-64 machine. I downloaded from Oracle's site their Instant Client bundle but it seems that ROracle needs some stuff not included in that kit in order to compile (in particuar, the 'proc' executable). I did not find any other linux client suite in Oracle's site, (our db runs on a Solaris server, so I can not use the

Consultive Transfer, or faking it
Hi there... I have a simple * setup with about 11 Soft phones (SJ Phone). The clients don't support a consultive or supervised transfer (I believe that's what it is called). Tris is a feature much desired by the powers that be and they want me to "make it work" :) I was wondering if there was a way to do this with and AGI script or the like so that when Staff 1 gets an external

Equipment for small office setup
Hi there... I've to setup an Asterisk system for a small office, I haven't done one of these in at least a year and was wondering if someone could just let me know what sort of phones are doing well these days. It just needs 9 phones in the office, for general use, no fancy things required for that, just accept calls, transfer calls etc. 1 Master phone for a receptionist. Is there an

r-square for cluster
Dear forumities, It's seem that there is no straight forward way to calculate R2 of a cluster solution in R. So, I would like to know if I'm right when calculating a R2-like statistic for a given clustering solution. In fact, I have different cluster solution for a given set of data. I would like to know which cluster solution gives the highest R2. My data (5 variables) are scaled to a 0
