several misc questions, public folders and sharing, quota, ssl
Hi Aki,
Thanks for your reply. Sorry, hit the reply to and not the reply to all option.
So, even when a folder is a public folder I'm still needing to use the
acl plugin?
The public/TestFolder is showing up, the public/TestFolder1 is not.
Thanks.
Dave.

Samba quota 'feature' fix?
Hey Guys and Gals,
I'm wondering if the quotas.c file is supposed to fix the problem where a
Linux x86 system running with the quota software causes corrupt files to be
written by Windows clients. I compiled it in and it didn't seem to make a
difference for the following problem.
In other words, if I enable quotas on my RH6.2 / 2.2.16-22 kernel box and
then write a file via Samba/Windows

several misc questions, public folders and sharing, quota, ssl
Hello,
I'm running dovecot 2.29 on a freebsd 10.3 system. I'm wanting to
optimize how the system is running and have a few misc questions.
First ssl, is my cipher list good? I'm trying for pfs and wanting to
ensure these cipherlist is appropriate:
ssl_cipher_list = EECDH+AESGCM:EDH+AESGCM:AES256+EECDH:AES256+EDH
Next, a new feature that I'm trying for is virtual folders that

Can you try turning mail_debug=yes and posting logs?
Also if possible, can you try telnetting to the server and issuing
a LOGIN username password
a SELECT public/TestFolder1
with debug turned on?
ACL plugin is needed *iff* you want to *restrict* access.

ACLs, shared, public, virtual mailboxes not working
Hello,
I'm running Dovecot 2.2.3, and am having issues with my public
folders, shared folders, and virtual/ALl folders apparently ACLs are
on that list as well.
I was debugging an unrelated problem with my smtp server and got the
following dovecot debug log output. Below is also a doveconf -n output
as well as my shared-folder definition file and my global-acls file.

Without ACL plugin there is no way to restrict access, it's free for all.
my site is a very tiny few user site, but ...
auth_mechanisms = login plain
mail_attribute_dict = file:%h/Mail/dovecot-attributes
mail_location = sdbox:~/Mail
mail_plugins = stats quota fts fts_lucene

ACLs, shared, public, virtual mailboxes not working
Since you have obfuscated your data it is hard to tell what's going on, especially as in your previous log you have 'user=user' and now you have user1 and user2.
You can try
doveadm rights -u victim folder
to see what sort of rights dovecot thinks it's seeing.

NT - Not allowed from this workstation
I am the sysadmin in an office with an overabundance of Win95 machines and
a few NT 4.0 workstations. All installs went relatively easy for logon
scripts, wins, etc. I have run into a semi-serious problem with 2 of the
3 NT workstations. (All running the same service pack - 1).
When trying to make a share from one of the 2 remaining workstations, I
will recevie an error message saying that:

Slow Samba when added new hard drive
Hi,
I've used Samba several years without any problems. Last week I added
a new disk to my system, and Samba started to behave very strange.
It's slow in terms of establish a connection and time to list
directories. I've tried to resolve the problem without success. No
other daemon has problems, both ftp and http works fine as well as
internal communication.
Below I've attached

Packet2Packet bridging occurring when not wanted
Hi,
I have Asterisk set up on Fedora with a single SIP trunk, with a few
handsets configured. The Asterisk box has both public and private
addressing, so "canreinvite=no" is set on both the SIP trunk and handset
configurations so I can get around the nasty NAT issues.
One odd behaviour I am seeing is certain destinations are resulting in
different SIP codes being sent back to Asterisk,

[PATCH] Add a Maximum Idle Time (1.2.2)
The attached patch adds an option (off by default to preserve current
behavior) to set a timeout on the select() statement that waits for input
in clientloop.c. This fixes a timeout issue for me (explained below) and
probably also fixes the timeouts mentioned in last month's thread "Idle
time out". The patch is also available by http from:
