Multiple usernames and strange log
Hi guys, I would like you to help me with two problems we have here with samba. It works fine on almost all the situations but we're unable to connect from a win95 machine with two identities simultaneously. The situation is that: john and eric have their own account in the server (Unix running samba). They share another account (say netmen). They need access to

Netlogon problems
Hi, We use Samba 1.9.18p10 on a Digital Unix alpha workstation as file server for our users. In rush hour there are 80-100 clients connected to the server. It works fine almost all the time but sometimes we have problems with the login from Windows 95. When the problem appears the user enters username, password and domain and it displays the message - Cannot found the shared

smbpasswd fails with unix password sync enabled
Hello again, I would like to thank Giant Wang and Miquel Bonastre for their responses to my query in "Samba Digest 1734" regarding simultaneous passwd changing for users via Samba. Their comments were helpful, but have not solved the problem. For those who do not have a back log of the Digests, the problem is that with unix password sync=yes, users are not able to change their own

Unable to browse
I have two problems running Samba on Solaris 2.51, Samba version 1.9.16p11. 1) When browsing the CADCAM group, which is where the Sun group is, the CADCAM name shows up on Explorer, but when I click on the group to browse the contents, the '+' disapears and the group apears to be empty. We can, however, map drives using \\sun01\sharname' directly. 2) When we dial into the network

R package with Fortran module on Windows? undefined reference to `__stack_chk_fail'
You should be able to set PKG_FCFLAGS="-fno-stack-protector" when compiling to ensure that the stack protector is not used. (Trying that out on a Windows VM, with a simple `R CMD build` + `R CMD INSTALL`, compilation of your package succeeded but linking failed saying the DLL 'Fpi' was not found; I imagine that's a separate issue.) As an aside, be sure to check out what

R package with Fortran module on Windows? undefined reference to `__stack_chk_fail'
Hi, I created a R library that uses a Fortran module. Everything works like a charm on linux. Now I'm trying to make it work on Windows. I cloned my git repository <https://github.com/ignacio82/MyPi> on a windows computer, and when I press the build and reload button on Rstudio I get these errors: ==> Rcmd.exe INSTALL --no-multiarch --with-keep.source MyPi * installing to library

NT Crashes when doing large network file Xfers (was Re: NT crashes during smbtar)
Ernie, Thanks for the great info.. Based on what you were seeing, would you suspect that part of the problem is with the combination of NT and the 3com card (3c595)? Currently, we are ONLY seeing this under NT Workstation (not server) and almost all of our machines have this same 3com 3c595 card (only if using 100BaseT).. -- Rick -----Original Message----- From: Ernie Oporto

Everything works fine: I can access my IMAP folders remotely, I have also installed Squirrel webmail to access it thru the web... Although I'm most of the time working with Ubuntu, sometimes I boot my machine with Windows XP. However, since the server is not running then (because I'm not running

Dear all, I need to access data from a large matrix (48000 x 48000) and to do it I am trying to run two loops using "for" command. Surely it is been a very slow job. I heard that "for" is not the best option to perform large loops in R, but I don't really know what would be the best (fast) option. sapply? vapply? Could anyone help me with this issue, please? Thank you

Rails double submit -> double post -> duplicate data
Hi, We are encountering occasions where users post twice or more a form, basically we have detected two situations: a) The user push twice enter b) The user push double click on button "save" or "submit" We consider that this becomes a problem when creating (because we duplicate data) and we think that in some context it could become a security issue
