SOLARIS_2.6: request_oplock_break
I saw a little discussion about this a few weeks ago but nothing concrete. We're running samba-1.9.18p8 under Solaris 2.6x86. I am periodically getting the following in the logfiles, usually _many_ at a time: 1998/11/03 14:42:00 request_oplock_break: no response received to oplock break request to pid 5411 on port 40884 for dev = 1980040, inode = 33c4d When I look up the PID (in this case

Can't connect to shares w/2.0beta3 on OSF1
I was running 1.9.18p10 on a test DEC Unix 4.0d box here and I decided to give 2.0beta3 a try. For some reason, I cannot connect to any of the server's shares or even get a list of it's services (via Start->Run->\\server) from Win95 clients. It asks for a password and no matter what I put in there I get "The password is not correct. Try again." I configured Beta3 a la:

[PATCH v3 10/10] drm/nouveau: Enable stereoscopic 3D output over HDMI
Enable stereoscopic output for HDMI and DisplayPort connectors on NV50+ (G80+) hardware. We do not enable stereoscopy on older hardware in case there is some older board that still has HDMI output but for which we have no logic for setting the Vendor InfoFrame. With this, I get an obvious 3D output when using the "testdisplay" program from intel-gpu-tools with the "-3"

What's an oplock_break?
I've been seeing these in my logs files ever since I upgraded to 1.9.18p10 and turned on oplock support for users' home directories: --snip -- 1998/10/07 10:05:44 oplock_break: receive_smb timed out after 30 seconds. 1998/10/07 10:05:44 oplock_break failed for file Start Menu/Open Office Document.lnk (fnum = 14, dev = 808446, inode = 45cb8). 1998/10/07 10:05:44 oplock_break: client

Samba - Unix password sync
Hi, in the last weeks I've unsuccessfully tried to get Samba (2.0.5a) - Unix (Suse 6.2) password sync working. Maybe somebody can give me a hint, what's wrong. Enclosed you'll find additional information. [PATCH 0/6] drm/nouveau: Enable HDMI Stereoscopy
This is an initial implementation of HDMI 3D mode support for the nouveau kernel driver. It works on all of the hardware that I have available to test at the moment, but I am unsure as to the overall approach taken for setting HDMI InfoFrames, there's no support for g84 or gf119 disps, and the criteria for enabling stereo support for an output seems a bit iffy. The first four patches arrange

request_oplock_break: no response received to oplock break request
Hello, I've been running samba 2.0.7 for a couple years now on a DEC alpha with Tru64 4.0D. I't pertty much a default smb.conf as far as oplocks & that sort of stuff. Anyway, the other day some users started having troubles with saving ms-word files. The smbd processes have always been running as root. But now the users with the problem own their smbd process. And they get

request_oplock_break - a clue - what does it mean ?
Hi all, I increased the log level, and found something very interesting out. I know now what causes a sbmd to go into infinite hibernation on Solaris. I do not know why, it is probably something Solaris specific, I thought that a "dont descend" would have resolved my problem, but it has not. details at the end. FreeBSD: Changing UNIX password - Password Chat?
I can't get my Samba PDC (FreeBSD 7,0-BETA3) changing UNIX passwords from Windows clients (Ctrl-Alt-Del). I now have the password chat debug active and I have loglevel 100. I am not certain about the syntax in the password chat. But if I from a console try to change the password of a given user (here testuser1), I see these lines: mflserver3# /usr/bin/passwd testuser1 Changing local password

[PATCH v2 09/10] drm/nouveau: Handle frame-packing mode geometry and timing effects
* Frame-packing modes add an extra vtotal raster lines to each frame above and beyond what the basic mode description calls for. Account for this during scaler configuration (possibly a bit of a hack), during CRTC configuration (clearly not a hack), and when checking that a mode is vaild for a given connector (cribbed from the i915 driver). Process per share control.
A long time ago, and I could be mistaken, I thought samba could be configured so that instead of a smbd process per user/machine it would spawn a process per share/user/machine. If it still can, could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks! Weldon Godfrey Sr. Systems Specialist Science Applications International Corporation
