Network Neighborhood
Hello, sorry for this posting, I know you must have answered this
hundreds of times, but I cannot get my samba servers to appear on the
network neighborhood on the W95 client machines. Can anyone tell what?s
missing from my smb.conf files?
The problem should be the same on all of the samba servers, how do I
have to configure samba to show up in the network neighborhood?
Thanx in advance.

SCO/Linux concerns
Hello
Since I am getting a bit concerned about the SCO vs IBM issue, I was
wondering if can I can setup Asterisk on FreeBSD is it supported ?
Are drivers for Digium cards available on FreeBSD ?
Thanks
Ajit

Freebsd + NT/Nt-Client am Linux-Server
Pam_SMB allows Linux clients to validate
their passwords against an NT PDC, so the
only thing you have to do is set up the
accounts on the Linux side with an '*'
in the /etc/passwd entry. This can be
done using a list of users:
#!/bin/bash
for i in `cat myuserlist`; do
/usr/sbin/adduser -p '*' $i
with various other command line options,
such as "-s

[proposal] Samba Software Foundation
dear samba users and developers,
i'd like to put to you a proposal for your respectful
consideration: it is an idea that i believe has strategic
merit for the open source community and OS users as a whole.
these words are chosen carefully and the reasons will become
apparent later: that i begin as an example.
as you are no doubt aware, there have been some seriously
