Problem Browsing
Running Samba 1.9.16p11 on Sun Solaris 2.5.1, cannot browse the Sun shares from PC's. Also tried the lastest version of Samba with same results. Went back to p11 for other reasons. At first I thought it was something wrong with the lmhosts file. Any suggestions? Garrett Curtis gcurtis@sermatech-lehr.com

Unable to browse
I have two problems running Samba on Solaris 2.51, Samba version 1.9.16p11. 1) When browsing the CADCAM group, which is where the Sun group is, the CADCAM name shows up on Explorer, but when I click on the group to browse the contents, the '+' disapears and the group apears to be empty. We can, however, map drives using \\sun01\sharname' directly. 2) When we dial into the network

Browser Problems
I am having broswer problems. Currently running 1.9.16.p11 on Solaris 2.51. I see the workgroup, CADCAM, in Explorer on a pc. But, when browsing CADCAM, the '+' sign goes away and nothing shows up under the group. PC's can still map the shares ok. My smb.conf entry is: browseable = yes workgroup = CADCAM Do I need to put something in the lmhosts file? Thanks, Garrett Curtis

2.0.7: unsolicited oplock break reply
I've used oplocks = no for a long time now, because of the famous "oplock_break" error, but I decided to give 2.0.7 a try. I still get "oplock break" errors as before, but this time I got a new error too: [2000/05/02 10:04:52, 0] smbd/oplock.c:oplock_break(976) oplock_break: receive_smb timed out after 30 seconds. oplock_break failed for file XXXXX/xxxxxx/mailbox.pst

Strange Problem Samba 2.04b and Outlook97
Hello, I have a strange problem with Samba 2.04b and M$ Outlook97 on NT 4.0 SP4. I am using a SCO OpenServer 5.04 system as mailserver (POP3) and nameserver as well as Samba Server. For backup reasons I have installed Outlook in such a way that its own mail file (postfach.pst) is on the Samba share. If the NT box and Outlook are freshly started I can retrieve mails from the POP3 or send

From: xu xin <xu.xin16 at zte.com.cn> This creates six drop reasons as follows, which will help users know the specific reason why bridge drops the packets when forwarding. 1) SKB_DROP_REASON_BRIDGE_FWD_NO_BACKUP_PORT: failed to get a backup port link when the destination port is down. 2) SKB_DROP_REASON_BRIDGE_FWD_SAME_PORT: destination port is the same with originating port when

Mail undeliverable error
Hi Guys, I've already posted this to the postfix mailing list and they made sure the error as the title suggest was generated by dovecot and not the other way around. I have an almost perfectly working multi domain mail server running dovecot+postfix+mysql+postfixadmin behind pfsense, when we transferred office, issues arose, suddenly users using email clients like thunderbird/outlook

Mail to nowhere
The next phase of my testing procedure involves the simple act of delivering mail to my test box. When I send a message to either a valid or relayed user at my remote machine's address, it never gets there. I know this virtually for sure because I'm tailing /var/log/maillog and nothing new has been added for the past hour. I'm thinking eventually my ISP will send the message back to me

Problem with locking files in MS Mail Server
Hello Everybody. I have problem with samba (debian potato 2.2.17 with samba 2.2.2), when I'am using samba to share "normal" files - everything was ok. But I must still use Microsoft Mail (messaging system) to deliver local messages in my network. Last time, I move this server to samba (before was on NT 3.51 :-)), and I have problem: When some part of my clients open MS Outlook with

Mail to nowhere
can you: $ telnet yourhost.com 25 (obviously replacing yourhost.com with whatever your domain/ip actually is) from the machine you are sending the mail from? If not make sure the service is running and make sure there isn't a firewall rule preventing this.
