remote subnet browsing and NT4.0SP3
Hello, I have a samba 1.9.18p4 server running as a domain master browser on a subnet, with some clients distributed on other subnets. If there are only Win 95 clients on a subnet, browse sync works - but not if there are Win NT 4.0 SP3 machines on that subnet. Error from nmdb (at log level 3): sync_with_lmb: Initiating sync with local master browser MAILHEIDELBERG<0x20> at IP

Microsoft Certified Professional Magazine publishes Samba art icle.
I got mcp mag a day or two ago, Great writeup!! I was a little surprised that they ran such a glowing review of samba, with some of the negative implications on NT. It is very nice to see Microsoft show an interest in interoperability. -Steve Roylance > -----Original Message----- > From: Jeremy Allison [SMTP:jallison@cthulhu.engr.sgi.com] > Sent: Thursday, April 15, 1999 6:41 PM >

Congratulations to Kamailio - Infoworld Best of Open Source Awards
Friends, I would like to congratulate kamailio.org - a project we're cooperating a lot with. They have just been awarded the BOSSIE award by InfoWorld. Kamailio is the OpenSER SIP proxy project with a new name, a product widely used in Asterisk installations. And of course, the motivation mentions Asterisk :-) From InfoWorld site: "Award winners in network and network

Username map issue with 1.9.18p8
Hi All, Sorry to be posting this :-(, but if you're using the 'username map' parameter with Samba 1.9.18p8, here's a small patch you may need. Without it the username map will work once per smbd and then refuse to map subsequent names. This isn't a big problem as normally, on a single user NT or 95 system, username map will only be called once per session (in the

rsync on win32: a) slow, b) crashes
Server is Linux, client multi-boots Windows and Linux. rsync v2.5.5, Windows 2K/XP, Linux 2.2. Under Windows, it takes *forever* to receive the file list, and once transfer is in progress gets under 1MB/s, compared to 6-8MB/s when booted to Linux. Manual copy via SMB works at full speed regardless of OS. And I have to --exclude parts of the filesystem that are (aparently) too long, else it

routing in xen 3.0: icmp gets routed, but tcp/ip only partially
Hello folks, I have this really strange routing problem that no amount of googling and experimenting has been able to solve. Then again, I''m new to Xen and "advanced" networking, so I could be missing something very basic. Summary: an unprivileged domU with PCI frontend for a NIC is used as a router; icmp gets routed, but tcp/ip only partially. I''m using a

New to dovecot admin, question about using LDAP for user-specific values
I am new to dovecot administration. I?ve read the Wiki but that hasn?t given me the understanding I need. When I query my LDAP (on macOS) on a value for user ?gerben?, I can get that: dumbledore:~ gerben$ dscl /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 -read /users/gerben GeneratedUID GeneratedUID: 780D870E-6B00-478E-AB70-3D3307215A82 I would like to use that value in dovecot settings, e.g. something like user_attrs =

modify and append new rows in a dataframe
My data frame shows changes on the variable act which records the consecutive duration (in seconds) of two states (wet-dry) over a few days for several?individuals (identified by Ring). Since I want to work with daytime (i.e. from dawn till dusk) and night time (i.e. from dusk till next dawn), I have to split act in two: from time[i] till dusk and from dusk until time[i+1], and from time[k] till

Is it possible to create and use some lookup table to replace (for instance) %u in mail_location?
Suppose my mail_location is: mail_location = maildir:/private/var/mail/nl.rna.mail/%u But I would like to use a simple lookup table to replace %u with another value, say '8DB4E345-9144-4F92-8C9F-9D47BB61CBF8? instead of ?username?. Is there a (simple) way to do this? Gerben Wierda Chess and the Art of Enterprise Architecture <http://enterprisechess.com/> Mastering ArchiMate

New to dovecot admin, question about testing a dovecot configuration
I am new to dovecot administration, not new to postfix administration. When setting up a new postfix/dovecot combo from scratch, can I start with dovecot alone and still be able to test it? E.g. can I address the local delivery agent with some sort of test email? If so, how? I haven?t been able to find it in the wiki. Gerben Wierda Chess and the Art of Enterprise Architecture

spamsieve question
My new dovecot covers spam/ham training through the standard Spam_train and Notspam_train mailboxes. When a message is copied (I?m using macOS/iOS standard Apple clients) it triggers the spam/ham learning by rspamd. So far so good. When I move a message to Spam_train I?d like it to be removed immediately after learning. When I move a message to Notspam_train, I?d like it to move back where it
