Cache Problems!

win98 vs win95 with TCP/IP

configure.ac: typos in Ultrix and NewsOS sections
Hi all. Bernhard Simon has reported a couple of typos in configure.ac in the sections for Ultrix and Sony NewsOS (NEED_SETPRGP -> NEED_SETPGRP). Now I can't imagine them being heavily used, and the change ought to affect only those (famous last words :-). Anyone see any reason not to do this? OpenSSH on ULTRIX
Hi, not sure if this is considered news, but I have been able to build OpenSSH 5.8p2 on mips-dec-ultrix4.5. On my system I have ULTRIX 4.5 with the latest Y2K patch kit as well as zlib-1.2.5, openssl-0.9.8m and prngd-0.9.29, several GNU utilities and gcc-3.0.4. To build openssh one has to check in various files if <sys/socket.h> and/or <netinet/ip.h> are multiply defined, because of

Ultrix mmap man page
Oisin, Dave, Thanks both for sending me the mmap page from Ultrix. The problem I see is the following paragraph : > The mmap system call maps the memory of a character device (fd) It's the "character device (fd)" that's the problem. Reading this it appears that Ultrix doesn't have the ability to mmap a file descriptor from a arbitary file in the filesystem. For the

memdisk and winPE diskless boot
Hi, I am working on the diskless booting over Infiniband networks. At the moment we have created and implemented architecture which allow diskless booting of Linux nodes on x86, x86_64 and Itanium platforms. The system works by booting first small custom made Linux kernel of the Infiniband adapter ROM. The kernel has enough of infiniband stack to setup TCP/IP networking over infiniband. Then it

Diskless client from system-config-netboot doesn't boot.
Hi folks, I've followed a set of instructions I found on http://www.linuxtopia.org/online_books/centos_linux_guides/centos_enterprise_linux_sysadmin_guide/ch-diskless.htmli which describes using system-config-netboot to set up PXE booting. I used a CentOS-4.3 install (custom, all options de-selected, then anaconda-busybox installed after the fact) as a reference/base. I followed the

PXELINUX 2.0 diskless booting RedHat 9.0
I'm trying to boot RedHat 9.0 on a diskless PC from a head machine running Redhat 9.0. The network appears to be setup correctly. I can boot the installation disk image fine using pxelinux. What I am trying to setup is a number of different Linux systems each with its own root directory on the head machine. I am hoping that I don't have to modify the kernel for any of these systems.

Anyone got Diskless BOOT working under CentOS ???
Im trying to get a diskless boot set up under CentOS 5.2, and having no luck at all. I am to the point of running system-config-netboot, and whatever information I put in, I get an error message. Responding to the 2nd button on the first popup, which asks for NFS info, I put in the IP address of the current machine (the machine that will hold the boot images for the diskless machine) and the

Diskless Clients
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi guys, Someone on the list today was asking about diskless clients. I have a guide written for doing diskless clients across NFS and PXE. I noticed there was nothing existing on the wiki for such a thing. I wanted to ask before I created the main category "Diskless Clients" under the How To page. Any objections to that there? Or suggest
