Printing to Intel InBusiness Print Station from SAMBA
Hi, all!
Does any body use this print station?
I try print via smbspool or smbclient and every time
I got "access denyed" error.

Linux and Printing via smbprint
Hi there
Looking at the archives I didn't find a solution to the following problem
we have here:
Printing from our linux-server (wagner) to an intel printserver (PS652D8F)
doesn't work.
Here's the stuff we know/tried:
wagner:~ # smbclient -L //PS652D8F -N
added interface ip=10.0.0.10 bcast=10.0.0.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
Got a positive name query response from 10.0.0.40 ( 10.0.0.40

Visualage Gen seems to need extended attrib of a file
We can't run VisualAge Generator (2.X) retriving files from the samba
server (AIX). (we receive smberror: ErrDos 282 )
It seems to require to read the extended attrib to find out the version
of the file (and until now I can't realize what else). Is there any
workaround or patch to get rid of it? Can Samba works fine with this
kind of application?
Thanks in advance,

WINS Retention
How does one get rid of machines from the WINS database?
They seem to hang around forever....and a restart doesn't solve it because the WINS data just gets passed around...

[LLVMdev] Issues running LLVM tests on Windows + MKS; filed 4 PRs and have patches
I have filed a number of problem reports about getting the LLVM test
infrastructure working for an environment with: Windows + MSVC9 +
Cmake + NMake makefiles + MKS. (MKS provides unix-like tools for
Windows, but based on very old versions, so they have quirky or
minimal compatibility with GNU tools.)

Error ERRaccess in Samba 2.0.7 printing to Netgear print servers
I recently compiled and installed Samba 2.0.7 on SCO OpenServer 5.0.4
using gcc v 2.7.2.1 (Skunkware 98). I was running Samba 1.9.18p7 with
no problems. We use a modified smbprint.sysv script to print to
Windows shared printers and also Netgear PS104 print servers. Printing
to the Windows shared printers is working fine, but printing to the
Netgear print servers does not work. I get the

[LLVMdev] Issues running LLVM tests on Windows + MKS; filed 4 PRs and have patches
Good morning David,
I won't accept your patches for now. It breaks lots of things in
current environments, autoconf - msys, cmake - msys, cmake -mingw and
cmake - msvs.
- You should never forget other environments. (eg., MSYS and CMD.EXE)
You should implement detecting MKS if you tweak MKS-specific stuff.
- Bash should be assumed to be mature.
I suppose MKS bash might be

InnocuLAN incompatible with Samba?
Samba 2.0.5b on Linux 2.0.36.
Innoculan virus scanner up-to-date on WinNT4SP3HU and WinNT4SP5HU.
On access virus scan has been enabled on all files. (OK, I guess it shouldn't, but it works more-
than-less with NT servers).

Winbind, RedHat 7.1, Pam 0.74-22 ohh so close to working
Hello,
I have gone through the howto provided but I am not yet able to
logon to my linux box using NT4 domain accounts. I can however authenticate
to restricted shares and I can obtain groups and users via "getent" and
"wbinfo -u". All I really need now is a working /etc/pam.d/login. I've tried
examples from the howto as with others from the mailing list but I can not

port forward from local net to local machine
Hi!
I have a Linux shorewall firewall that is the default gw of the network.
I want to redirect all localy originating traffic to port 80 into another
machine on port 8002 into the local network.
This machine is a WIN2000 machine running a commercial software (proxy,
content filtering) that only runs into Windows... :-(
I tried something like this but this doesn''t seem to work:

Slow Samba when added new hard drive
Hi,
I've used Samba several years without any problems. Last week I added
a new disk to my system, and Samba started to behave very strange.
It's slow in terms of establish a connection and time to list
directories. I've tried to resolve the problem without success. No
other daemon has problems, both ftp and http works fine as well as
internal communication.
Below I've attached

Samba 2.0.6, MKS' touch.exe, and file/dir time stamps
Hello all,
we are experiencing problems with samba 2.0.6 and the MKS touch command.
during our builds, we touch files and directories so that our make
dependencies work correctly. Unfortunately, it seems that MKS' touch.exe
doesn't actually change the time stamp of a file or directory. The
command returns without an error, but the timestamp does not change.
The same problem exists

smbclient/samba not working properly
Hi,
If this has been answered already please point me to the right place.
The thing is I am having problems getting smbclient from samba-2.2.8a
package to work properly. I have used Red Hat 9, Suse 8 and Gentoo before
migrating to LFS 5.0. In all earlier distributions it worked fine so I
think the problem might be LFS specific though my mind refuses to believe
this.
Synopsis of the problem:
