NT User can't access share
Folks, A remote admin is trying to add a contractor account to our NT domain with limited rights. Unfortunately, everytime the contractor account is removed from the DomainUsers group, the contractor encounters the following: \\nt-nfs-md\IPC$ and the infamous invalid password. Once the user is re-added to the DomainUsers group, they can access the share fine. My question is what permissions

won't sync browse lists accross subnet
Folks, I'm confused with those whole samba/security thing. I'm running the latest SAMBA without encryption and default share security. As a result, I can't get my NT PDC to sync browse lists with my samba server, which is on a different subnet. I get the following error in log.nmb: sync_browse_lists: NT-SERVER0 rejected the browse sync sessionsetup My goal is to force those who

Implementing SAMBA w/ Automounter
I checked the archives and automounter is only mentioned for home dirs. Our organization would like to implement SAMBA but we have over 150 mount points. Is there a way we can use automounter maps with SAMBA? Having to edit smb.conf each time we add/remove a mount point would be quite annoying and time consuming. FallBackToRsh in 3.4p1
Why was FallBackToRsh has been depricated in 3.4p1? I found this to be a useful feature for migrating users to SSH. I wish I could do a wholesale replacement of telnet and rsh in my environment but that is not realistic at this point. I think a better course of action would be to have the option disabled by default and force those that want it to re-enable. Heck, you could even require a

security = server & encrypted passwords
Folks, I've missed the latest encrypted passwords thread, so forgive me if this is old hat for some of you. I'm running 2.0.3 with auth being handled by an NT PDC. It seems that some Win95 clients (namely those with later releases of the OS) have problems authenticating. I've got encrypt passwords = yes but it still seems only the old Win95 clients (clear text passwords) can auth

Hi! I have just downloaded the R-0.60.1 sources and have problems compiling R on a Sun Ultra 1 running Solaris 2.6 and gcc 2.7.2.1. I am not on the list, so please answer me directly too. Best regards Jens --- Jens Lund

two wine processes not able to run on xeon
Hi We are trying to run two wine based windows jobs on the linux environment. When we try doing that in P3/P4 it goes fine. When we try that in Xeon, the later job always fails as follows: wine: Unhandled exception, starting debugger... err:seh:start_debugger Couldn't start debugger ("winedbg --debugmsg -all 135148400 160") (2) Have anyone seen a similar issue?

SAMBA 1.9.18p10 problem
I have been using Samba 1.9.18p8 in a Solaris 2.6 machine for months but suddenly this week there is a problem. Nothing's changed. I have some persistent connection of my NTSP3 client to the samba share. When I login as usual, it fails to mount the drive. It either prompt for password but whatever password the samba rejects, or give a "Access is Denied" when you try to access the

[PATCH 6/6] drm/nouveau: use MSI interrupts
MSIs were only problematic on some old, broken chipsets. But now that we already see systems where PCI legacy interrupts are somewhat flaky, it's really time to move to MSIs.
