Boot from external degraded zpool
Hi!
I wonder if the following scenario works:
I have a mac mini running as an OSOL box. The OS is installed on the internal hard drive on the vdrive rpool. On rpool there is no redundancy.
If I add an external block device (USB / Firewire) to rpool to mirror the internal hard drive and if the internal hard drive fails, can I reboot the system with the detached internal drive but with the

speex encoding
I am encoding audio with quality=0 (2150 bps) and get the expected 43
bits per packet (every 20 ms).
However, in my limited testing I notice that the last 3 bits
never change, seeming to indicate that the audio is fully encoded in 40 bits.
It is important in my application that the audio is compressed as much as
possable for transmission over a communication system. My question is, is it

Yes, that nailed it nicely.
As a general point, it's very common in flight software to have quite a
lot of statically allocated data structures, much more so than in
'normal' code, because the coding standards that are mandated (in many
cases) outlaw all runtime memory allocation. Typically, malloc is

Booting disk images with syslinux?
Is it possable to boot a diskimage with syslinux?
So often I run into bios upgrade disks images or can
easily create a disk image and would like an easy way
to just boot these images.
I know isolinux does this and I vagely remember using
it to make a bootable windows 95 cd back in the day.
It worked to.
It would be nice if I could just copy the disk image
to a usbstick and use syslinux to boot

[PATCH v2] virtio_net: CTRL_GUEST_OFFLOADS depends on CTRL_VQ
The only way for guest to control offloads (as enabled by
VIRTIO_NET_F_CTRL_GUEST_OFFLOADS) is by sending commands
through CTRL_VQ. So it does not make sense to
acknowledge VIRTIO_NET_F_CTRL_GUEST_OFFLOADS without
VIRTIO_NET_F_CTRL_VQ.
The spec does not outlaw devices with such a configuration, so we have
to support it. Simply clear VIRTIO_NET_F_CTRL_GUEST_OFFLOADS.

Changes to parser in R-devel
I have just committed (in r59883) some changes to the R parser based on
Romain Francois' parser package. Packages that made use of parser will
hopefully find that the information in base R gives them what they need
to work with, but the data is not identical to
what parser recorded (since it was not consistent with some things
already in R). One reason for the change was that the parser

The spec does not outlaw devices with such a configuration,
but Linux assumed that with VIRTIO_NET_F_CTRL_GUEST_OFFLOADS
control vq is always there, resulting in

Exim+dovecot and quota check in exim's ACL before real message routing.
Good day.
I want to migrate from cyrus-imap to dovecot but I can not find replacement of one feauture presented in the
cyrus-imap. It is LMTP. All mail users are virtual and mail works like: username at real-domain.com ->
anotherusername at fake-domain.local. I whould like to check "delivery is possable" in the exim's ACL. In the
exim+cirus scheme I use Callout verification from

[PATCH] Fix vnc-dryrun option interaction
A patch that was applied yesterday tried to turn the vnc option off if
dryrun was set. Unfortunately, the way it was actually coded turned
vnc ON if dryrun was not set! I think this patch should fix it (someone
who actually uses vnc & dryrun should test it, though).
