rsync replication acl error
I am trying to replicate a samba-4.3 DC [192.168.8.65] to a newly joined samba-4.10 DC. I am using rsync as described in the samba wiki, excepting that I am using a remote shell (ssh) with the root user and password-less logins. When I run the command below from the 4.10 DC I get acl errors as shown below. rsync -XAavz --delete-after --rsh='ssh' [192.168.8.65]:/var/db/samba4/sysvol

NFSv4 ACLs.
Right now, FreeBSD supports one type of ACLs - so called POSIX.1e ACLs. They are natural extension of the traditional Unix permissions, and for a long time were the only nonproprietary ACL type in Unix systems. Times change, and now there are several problems with them: they never actually become standard (the draft they are based on was withdrawn); this results in minor incompatibilities

Rsync stops in the middle of a large transfer
Hello everyone. I am having trouble with rsync stopping in the middle of a transfer. Everything works fine for smaller batches of file, but when I try to rsync big groups, it just stops in the middle. I have been using rsync to copy my home directory to an SD card. I recently got a Drobo+Droboshare (NAS) and want to do the same thing to the Drobo, but when I run rsync, it stops somewhere in

Strange behavior after upgrading to rsync 3.2.3
(Please forgive me if this has already been discussed - I checked the archives and bug reports and found nothing relevant.) I just recently upgraded to rsync 3.2.3 Now, I get error messages on every copy. For example, $ rsync -rltv --delete rsync://anoncvs.netbsd.org/cvsroot/CVSROOT \ /$LOCALDIR/ results in these error messages: receiving incremental file list default_perms_for_dir:
