Merging list of dataframes with reshape merge_all
Hi,
I'd like to merge mutliple dataframes from a list of dataframes by some common
columns. The approach for simply merging 2 dataframes is working with:
merge(df1,df2,by=c("col1","col2","col3"),all=TRUE)
For mutliple dataframes in a list I try to use the merge_all command
from the package reshape.
The documentation states that the command takes a list of

Sound Stutters and Sputters then dies
Hey Y'all,
Recently my sound has been misbehaving. The issue exists when I play
sound using Rhythmbox, Totem Movie Player, or even Youtube video in
Firefox or Chrome. The sound stutters and drops out. Sounds very
rough. On Youtube the sound will eventually just die and can not be
restarted until the browser is shut down and restarted.
I've had issues related to Repo Forge

Mutliple sets of data in one dataset....Need a loop?
Hi
I'm hoping someone can help me I am a relative newbie to R.
I have data that is in a similar format to this...
Experiment Score1 Score2
X -0.85 -0.02
X -1.21 -0.02
X 1.05 0.09
Y -1.12 -0.07
Y -0.27 -0.07
Y -0.93 -0.08
Z 1.1 -0.03
Z 2.4 0.09
Z -1.0 0.09
Now I can easily have a look at the overall correlation of score 1 and 2 by
doing this
plot(data[,2], data[,3]) or
fit <-

All combinations possible in a mutliple regression
Hi,
I want to use four independent variables to predict the output of one
dependent variable using a linear model lm. I want to compare all possible
combinations of the 4 independent variables, including singles, pairs and
triples.
I was thinking of using the AIC test to compare all models and pick the best
one.
The model looks like this :
lm(Y ~ X1 + X2 + X3 + X4)
Thanks for your help

Putting a password on the international call
Dear List;
To have better security, how can I put a password on
the international calls (if the user dialed the
international call, then it will be asked for password
to send the call outside)?
Can this password read from the CDR file to know whom
did these international calls (using which password?
As I might have mutliple passwords).

Best method for booting logical partions via syslinux...
Hi.
Which is the preferable method for booting multiple logical partions via syslinux ?
1. Create seperate logical (fat 32) partitons for 'each' Live CD,
extracted and prepared identically via syslinux/syslinux.cfg (sdc5,
sdc6,sdc7 etc.)
2. Use Grub2 to attempt to boot seperate logical partitions with the same extracted Live CD plan as above.
3. Use the chain.c32 module that

wine-0.9.15 & winetools problems.
Hello,
I built wine-0.9.15 today. It installs and works to a small extent
that I tested it. I then attempted to install and run winetools and
had some problems. If anyone sees what I'm doing wrong please let me
know. Thanks.
1) Install wine
2) Run 'wine notepad' to create initial .wine directory. Notepad opens.

I capture seal pups mutliple times during the lactation season in order to
monitor their growth rate. When I release them, the recovery (mother-pup)
time is not the same for all individuals. I want to know if individuals that
recover their mother the fastest are the ones with the highest growth rates.
So, I noted at every release if the pup

Problems Converting from Cyrus to Dovecot (cyrus2dovecot)
Thank you for the reply. I did find imapsync whilst perusing Google. I
will give it a shot, it sounds more realistic/reliable. I have a hoard
of emails going back to 1999, so I want as few errors as possible :)

vector of names for which i want to create mutliple combinations and then
place them in different vectors. In some other language I can just place a
third dimension to separate list (or matrix) but i do not know how to do it
in R.
My issue is simple I use

Integrating with Toshiba Strata DK40i KSU
We've done a direct swap of an old Amanda voicemail system with a shiney
new Asterisk system (Asterisk 1.0.9). The system consists of 4 FXO
ports on the * box (TDM400P), and three old Wildcards we aren't using
(too buggy we found).
CO lines-> Toshiba -> FXO ports on *
We want to branch out a little more and use it as an auto-attendant.
The first problem seems to be an asterisk

I'm using a loop to extract 2 columns from an array into multiple files.

How to prevent batch rsync to write rsync_argvs files in the home directory
Hi,
Whenever i am using the command
rsync --write-batch -av --stats `cat $1` -e ssh user@remote machine:/destination/
This is writing rsync_argvs files in the home directory as well as to the destination directory.
Can anyone give me any idea as how to prevent the writing of rsync_argvs files in the home directory which is of no use.

Surabhi.
