Good morning all, I?m using rsync v3.0.0 on both ends. The source is Fedora Core 4 and the destination is MacOS 10.5.2. I?m trying to sync a file system with roughly 5,000,000 files checking in about 1.2TB. I use the command rsync ?avP ?e shh root@mustang:/filevault . From my MacOS machine and I get the following after about 400GB has been copied:

rsync connection/transfer error
Hi All, I am somewhat new to rsync and am looking for some guidance. I've been using it successfully for a couple months syncing CentOS updates from a university mirror with the following specs: rsync version 2.6.8 protocol version 29 rsync -artv rsync://mirrors.usc.edu/centos/5.6/updates/i386/RPMS/--exclude=debug/ /var/www/html/centos/5/updates/i386 Everything works fine for this connection

[patch] add "--ignore" option
Hi, The patch below adds a "--ignore" option to rsync, which means "--exclude-but-dont-delete-even-if-we-specified--delete-excluded". I need this for a few tasks, the simplest of which is to have rsync resist trying to delete NetApp filers' ".snapshot" directories. The change is fairly simple (the boolean filter returns become tri-state), and works for me both

Bug with crtimes and hard links?
I've been getting spurious unnecessary copying of files on OSX when using the crtimes patch and the --crtimes -H options (version 3.0.4). I can reliably demonstrate it (on OSX 10.5) by doing this several times (as root): rsync -v -N -axHAX --delete-during --fileflags --force-change /usr/ bin/ /tmp/foo/ I think I've tracked it down to the hard-link processing code in

Revised flags patch
Hi, first of all, sorry for taking so long. Unfortunately, some other tasks kept coming up. Anyway, attached is the version of the flags patch, that is based on the one I'm using with 2.6.9. It is against the rsync-3.0.0pre9 release. I've included the option name change from the repository, so the option is now called --fileflags. Improved from the previously distributed version is the

3.0.6 & "string overflow by 1"
I updated one of my file servers to 3.0.6, and while file serving is improved (no M$-Office file already open messages), every time I access a printer my logs flood with messages like to those below. It seems I can set printer properites, etc... but when I print the jobs seem to go to never-never land (still researching where the jobs go). [2004/08/20 08:46:27, 0]

rsync patch -flags fails to compile on Mac OSX
I am trying to compile rsync 3.0.0cvs with the flags.diff patch on a Mac OSX G4. It fails because the flags UF_NOUNLINK, and SF_NOUNLINK do not exist on this platform. sys/stat.h only gives the following flags * Definitions of flags stored in file flags word. * * Super-user and owner changeable flags. */ #define UF_SETTABLE 0x0000ffff /* mask of owner changeable flags */ #define
