smbclient for SCO OpenServer 5.0.7
Looking back in the samba mailing list archives, I see not soancient requests for samba on ancient SCO OpenServer systems. Recently faced with a situation where a Windows Server upgrade to 2012 R2 and broke an smbclient upload from a SCO OpenServer 5.0.7 system. Directory listings and file deletions did not fail, but all upload attempts produced empty files on the Windows server (this due,

Newbie help: Samba 2.0.3 & SCO 5.0.5
Hi, I've just installed a binary version of Samba 2.0.3 on SCO 5.0.5 and am having some problems. I'm basically following "SAMS Teach yourself Samba in 24 hrs" book. On a Win98 machine I can see the SCO machine in the Network Neighborhood. When I try to connect it asks for a passwd and says that the passwd is incorrect when I enter it. It also displays

COM dates (was origin and "origin<-" in chron)
I was just looking for an easy way to convert between COM datetime and chron datetime (both ways.) I found examples on the list, but they involved origin. Does anyone have functions for converting COM datetime <-> chron datetimethat work "safely"? David L. Reiner > -----Original Message----- > From: Gabor Grothendieck [mailto:ggrothendieck@gmail.com] >

booting pxelinux and subsequent tftp-reads
hello, I used to start a network installation from redhat or suse over PXE using the pxelinux component from the syslinux package. At the beginning of installation I want to read some files (e.g. the kickstart-file) over tftp from the pxe server. The problem is that from the point of view of the installation loader I don't know the ip-address and the tftp path prefix of the pxe server. Is

[IMPORTANT BUGFIX][ACM][XM] FIX essential security check in block-attach / indentation problem introduced in change set changeset 11572
This patch fixes an indentation error in main.py. The effect of this bug is that block-attach does not check labels if the ACM is active. This bug slipped in with change set 11572_:_ ad22c711ccb7 <http://xenbits.xensource.com/xen-unstable.hg?cs=ad22c711ccb7>. This patch is essential and should get into 3.0.3. I tested the patch with security off and on. Thanks Reiner P.S. We are

buildpkg.sh enhancements
I've made some changes to buildpkg.sh to make it easier for package builders to add their local changes. I'd like people that use buildpkg.sh to test and comment on these changes before I commit them to CVS. None of the defaults have changed. Some of the patch is is just moving chunks of code to a different location to make some of the enhancements work. Some things you may find

Hmisc::pstamp, mfcol, and spacing
I am trying to make a nice 2x1 plot and add a timestamp with comment. The pstamp function from Hmisc works nicely when mfcol=c(1,1), but when mfcol=c(2,1), the stamp winds up in the wrong place: > require('Hmisc') > opar <- par(mfcol=c(2,1)) > plot(1:10) > title(main="MAIN Title") > plot(1:20) > title(main="Another Title") > pstamp("normal

DOH! RE: R 2.1.0 for Windows installation error? atanh not in R.dll?
I'm sorry to waste bandwidth. I re-read the console message for the tenth time and finally noticed R was looking in rw2001pat for libraries. Looking at my Env vars I see I set R_LIBS to look there. Changed R_LIBS, fixed problem. DOH! So now if I want to use several versions of R simultaneously, what do I do. I set R_LIBS so it would look also in C:/R/extra for some added packages. Thanks and

Function for computing the difference between 2 dates inmonths
not without knowing what dados is. Remember that num.months works only on objects that can be converted to Date objects. Make sure that all of your date-like objects can be converted. (The error message seems to indicate that something you think should look like a date doesn't.) David L. can one evaluate an expression in a comment? (or insert resultsinto history?)
But that doesn't put the result into the history buffer, to be written to a file only later when I savehistory(filename). Bert Gunter also suggested ?capture.output and ?textConnection, but I cannot see how to get text into the history buffer as comments, but with evaluated expressions (values). I know how to use paste, sink, write, etc. but nothing that I can see inserts into the history

I'm running 'make check' to run the testsuite, and I did it this way so the ssh-basic test would run: # export rsync_enable_ssh_tests=yes # make check I did set up ssh so this would run, and here's what I get for output: POSIXLY_CORRECT=1 TOOLDIR=`pwd` rsync_bin=`pwd`/rsync srcdir="." ./runtests.sh ============================================================
