Aw: Re: Re: rsync not copy all information for font file
what is the source and destination filesystem? here is some report that rsync has some problem with HFS+ filesystems and "ressource forks": http://quesera.com/reynhout/misc/rsync+hfsmode/ but as you are using ubuntu and not osx i`m curious what`s the problem, so i think we need more information here. regards roland > Gesendet: Freitag, 12. rsync with 8bit file names?
When trying to sync my TV folder to a mirror drive, episodes with non-ASCII characters in them cannot be processed by rsync. Anything I can do about this? For example, I get this: building file list ... file has vanished: "/Volumes/TV/Raising Hope/Raising Hope - S04E01 - De?\#201ja Vu Man.mkv" This is rsync under OS X: $ rsync --version rsync version 2.6.9 protocol version 29

Problem backing up read-only files
I have a PC on which I run Windows XP and Cygwin 1.5. To this is attached an HP Media Vault mv2120 via Ethernet through a switch. I can copy files back and forth between the XP machine and the Media Vault, so that much seems to work fine. I would like to use rsync to back up some of the files on the XP machine to the Media Vault. This seems to work as it should as long as the files have write

Some files always copied to W2K system
I am copying from a rsync --daemon (have tried from both W2K/cygwin & Linux daemons) to a W2K machine. Some files get copied every time even though they haven't been touched since the last copy. I have experimented and deturmined that the file size seems to be important. If the file is between 926 & 933 bytes long it will always be copied!! Other sizes and possibly other aspects of

Large File Support on AIX 4.3.3
I've been trying to get rsync to work on AIX 4.3.3 with files > 2GB. I've looked through the archives and saw reference to this, etc. on HPUX but have not been able to come across a solution for AIX. bug report: errors in file transfer
Hi! I just encountered a serious problem with rsync. I used rsync to copy a big directory between two computers. The source machine was a sun, the destination was a linux box. The destination directory did not exist before the copy started. I used the following command to copy the directory over: rsync -aSz source_machine:projects/ projects2 because I was somewhat paranoid, I checked if all

rsync checksums change randomly
Hello, I have a weird issue with rsync randomly marking some files as having a different checksum (see sample outputs below - run one after another). You would think it is some kind of corruption / io problem with the files but it doesn't seem so - I have copied files around, changes source to different machines, counted md5s manually 100s of times - always the same. All files except
