rsync and copying ACL
Hi !
I am trying to use rsync to copy ACL between two Windows hosts. First, I
try locally on a Windows hosting an AD. If I use rsync 3, I get this (I
get the same thing with latest snapshot):

Rsync push is slower compared to pull
Hi,
It has been observed that rsync push mode is much slower when compared
to pull (On Identical scenarios). Building/receiving file list takes
almost same time. But data transfer is much slower, whose transfer
ratios are ranging from 1:3 to 1:5. On pull operation data transfer
speed is consistently around 3.5 MB/Sec and it reached 10 MB/Sec.
However, on push the maximum it could reach is

Rsync fails to rename on Windoze2003
Hi All,
I've seen several variations on this topic, but nothing exactly the same:
I have two Windows 2003 servers that I want to use rsync (2.6.8) to mirror. These machines are separated by a WAN.
Initial attempts to get rsync working between them have not been successful. The first rsync went fine, which seeded the files, but the second sync always fails (at a ramdom time) with a

Windows 2003 Cygwin Netapp remote filesystem
Amongst various problems I am having, I am trying to run an rsync
daemon on a windows 2003 server with cygwin installed.
It works fine, except that I can't seem to get the daemon to chdir to
any file that is remotely mounted from my Netapp.
Other windows shares or local disks chdir just fine. very weird.
I think it has something to do with the automapping of shares in cygwin.
Any help

Pipe creation problem: From Java app using rsync + ssh on windows with cygwin
Hello,
I'm having trouble calling rsync from java on windows vista with cygwin
installed.
Its strange as pasting the exact same command into a command shell works
fine.
My test java call looks like this.

String[] envVars = {"PATH=c:/cygwin/bin;%PATH%"};
File workingDir = new File("c:/cygwin/bin/");

Rsync 3.0.0pre4 errors with ACLs and Xattrs between OSX and Linux
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
It's my understanding that as of 3.0 rsync supports OS X ACLs and
extended attributes, and that it should be possible to backup a tree
from an OS X system that contains files and folders with ACLs and
extended attributes to a Linux host filesystem that has both
"user_xattrs" and "acl" enabled on the destination file system.

I am interested in grouping/cluster these names as those which are
similar letter to letter. Are there any

I need rsync + acl support for windows?

Rsync's support for Windows ACLs is limited. What are you trying to
do? Copy files from Windows to Windows, preserving Windows ACLs? If
so, you might be better off using rsync to copy the files and another
tool to copy the ACLs.
Since rsync is meant first and foremost for Unix-like systems,
