Question and feature requests for processor bound systems
Is there any way to disable the checksum block search in rsync, or to
somehow optimize it for systems that are processor-bound in addition to
being network bound?
I'm using rsync on very low power embedded systems to rsync files that are
sometimes comparatively large (sometimes a few hundred megs in size or
larger), and am finding that just the operation of the checksumming one such
file on

SAS Hard Disk 15K rpm on CentOS 5.8
Hi,
I get these below information. Please help me understand about "SMART
Health Status: FAILURE PREDICTION THRESHOLD EXCEEDED: ascq=0x5
[asc=5d, ascq=5]" and what does that error mean. Does it mean that the
SAS disk 0 is failing and has serious issues and needs to be replaced
and also do i need to run health status test with different
options/flags or switches.

New site for feature wish-list: Asteriskideas.org
Friends,
For a long time, we needed a platform for managing feature requests -
things that the community or developers would like to see in Asterisk.
In the bug tracker we used to have a "feature request" category, but
there was no good way to handle them in the bug tracker and they where
in the way for the work done by developers in the tracker.
The new site is basically a blog

feature-wish: "--ignore-unrelated-errors" option
Hi.
I looked high and low for the following feature of rsync but it does
not seem to be available, even though it would be really useful:
--ignore-unrelated-errors. The semantics should be the following:
when an I/O error is encountered while reading a directory foo/ (as
far as I understand, rsync only takes into account errors on
directories, not on individual files), no deletion should be

feature wish for ices and a question
Hi,
wouldn't it be nice for ices configuration file to be able
to handle multiple playlists sections ? Is it limited on purpose ?
this would allow the same ices instance to stream
different things to different servers.
Actually one has to create several configuration files, and launch
several different ices process.
any comment ?
and now an important question:
What is the best tool to

surplus <p> tags.

A wish or possible?
Hi,
One thing I''d like to be able to do is this...
define sedfile ( $file = '''', $target = '''', $pattern = '''', $options = ''-i -n''
, onlyif = '''' ) {
case $file {
'''': { err ( "Require valid filename: ''$file''" ) }
}

Feature wish: "Virtual" POP3 folder with IMAP
Hallo,
is it possible to implement a "flat folder view" for POP3 users?
The problem is that POP3 only knows one folder: INBOX. Now, if a user logs
in via POP3, he won't see messages that live outside the INBOX folder - this
could be e.g. a *SPAM*-flagged message moved to another folder via
Sieve/LDA/other mechanism.
What about adding a feature `pop3_remap_folders` to virtually

Possible bug involving LDA and Namespaces
Hi All,
Yesterday I began experimenting with using LDA to do delivery. To begin
with I'm using a .forward file entry for myself so as to avoid affecting
other users. When "deliver" is passed an item to deliver, the following
is logged:
> deliver(allen): Sep 18 19:28:52 Info: Namespace: type=private,

[PATCH v2 1/3] virtio-net: Introduce extended RSC feature
VIRTIO_NET_F_RSC_EXT feature bit indicates that the device
is able to provide extended RSC information. When the feature
is negotiatede and 'gso_type' field in received packet is not
GSO_NONE, the device reports number of coalesced packets in
'csum_start' field and number of duplicated acks in 'csum_offset'
field and sets VIRTIO_NET_HDR_F_RSC_INFO in 'flags' field.

Virtio-blk extended lifetime feature
Hi guys,
While trying to upstream the implementation of VIRTIO_BLK_F_LIFETIME
feature, many developers suggested that this feature should be
extended to include more cell types, since its current implementation
in virtio spec is relevant for MMC and UFS devices only.
The VIRTIO_BLK_F_LIFETIME defines the following fields:
- pre_eol_info: the percentage of reserved blocks that are consumed.

virt-manager and virt-install can''t use with new built xvm 3.3
Hi Dave,
I built successfully an xvm 3.3 system. However, I found virt-manager
and virt-install don''t work. I attached the error messages of both as
below.
xm tool seems to work. I can run OpenSolaris200811 LiveCD and install
it onto file based disk.
The error messages of virt-manager:

I wonder if it would be useful to have a partner program that would index
the rsync'ed file system (like Tripwire). If the index file exists (or
