Thorough distributed backup/sync strategy
Does anyone have a good distributed backup strategy? I've been revising mine for a year or so now and always realize there's some hole or another in it. I get the feeling to do it exactly the way I want it needs to be complex, but I'm looking for something elegant. My data consists of some of these representative folders: .mozilla Documents Pictures .ssh Music bin And these

Robocopy from Windows to Samba (3.6.3) with backup flag
Hello, I need to copy a Windows NAS to a Samba one preserving all stuffs (dates, owner, security, etc...) in an enterprise environment. I'm used to do that with between two Windows using robocopy and the /b (backup) flag, so I can backup files even if I do not have an ACE for my account as I have the backup and restore privileges. I need to do the same thing from Windows to Samba but using

--backup/--backup-dir filters feature req
Hi, I was wondering if it would be possible to get filters purely for the two backup flags. They would work in a similar manner to the current ones except that they would only work on files to be backed up in order to indicate what should be included in the backup and what should be excluded. This came up for me as part of daily server backups where I use --backup-dir to have, effectively, daily

mod_ntlm_winbind on Apache vs. IE6, no POST method
Hello, I have setup mod_ntlm_winbind to provide authentication for an Apache 1.3.33 webserver running on Fedora Core 3. The authentication works, but I have run into a problem when using Internet Explorer. It seems that the problem might be with Internet Explorer itself, but here is what I think is happening - the browser will not submit any forms with a POST method on a website protected with

[PATCH][0.9] Move modifier handling into a separate top-level class
Hi, The attached patch moves modifier handling into a separate top-level class along with CompScreen in order that modifier manipulation and conversion functions are exposed to plugins. It is required by vpswitch for example. The patch has been tested and works fine and shouldn't require an ABI bump because no function in screen.h has been removed, only functions in privatescreen.h Kind

[feature request] Modify --backup option to make backups on source side, too
Hello, Can you please modify the backup options to work together with --remove-source-files so I'm able to create a reliable "move between hosts" script? If --backup is specified, the files to be deleted should be renamed on the source side. If --backup-dir is specified, they should be moved there, etc. If this already works, please update the documentation accordingly :-)

"sticky" modifier keys issue when wine loses focus
When running a program in wine, and I use a hotkey combo to either switch desktops or open another program (example: to bring forward my fullscreen terminal), the modifier keys are still depressed, according to wine, when I switch back to the wine window. I did some tests, and found that when switching desktops away from wine with a hotkey with modifiers, and then switching back with a method

Problems with "r" modifier in Dial - does not work in SIP channels?
I can't seem to get the "r" modifier to work on inbound SIP calls. The way I understood this to work is that the channel would be answered, and a ring "tone" would be played to the channel. This is not very friendly in that it doesn't honor connection supervision rules, but... who cares? There are some instances where it may be in my interests to get a
