preserve ctimes of *unchanged* directories on receiver
'rsync -a' updates the ctime on a directory even if no file in that directory
has changed. A kind of workaround is to use '-O', but then the mtimes of
directories are not preserved.
(Usage example where this is important: maintain a copy of filesystem A in
filesystem B, and use filesystem B as the source for incremental backups

Problem with OCFS2 on RHEL5.0 while installing CRS 10.2.01
Hi team
I had installed OCFS2 on RHEL5.0 . every thing looks fine but when I was installing CRS on the node I got error message OCFS2 is not supported. Can you please put some light on this. Please find other info below

requeridos.

accuracy of a neural net
Hi. I started with a file which was a sparse 982x923 matrix and where the
last column was a variable to be predicted. I did principle component
analysis on it and arrived at a new 982x923 matrix.
Then I ran the code below to get a neural network using nnet and then wanted
to get a confusion matrix or at least know how accurate the neural net was.
I used the first 22 principle components only for

select rows from data based on a vector of char strings
Hi,
I have loaded a dataset in R :
data =
label freq1 freq2
news 54 35
fun 37 21
milk 19 7
food 3 3
.... etc
And I have a vector
flist<-c("fun","food")
Now I want to use the vector 'flist' for selecting these values from 'data'
so that I get the following dataset :
label freq1 freq2
fun 37 21
food

find_by_sql question
I''m no good at SQL and I have a question that will hopefully be fairly
easy to answer.
I''m using acts_as_paranoid which instead of deleting a record adds a
deleted_at column with the datetime the row was deleted. I want to have
a find_by_sql filter out any row where deleted_at is not null.
I have (at least the relevant parts):

Converiting longitude/latitude to utm
Dear all,
I have been trying to convert coordinates from longitude/latitude to utm
but I got an error. As soon as the longitude coordinate is greater than 90,
I get the folloowing error message: "error in pj_transform: latitude or
longitude exceeded limits"
Here is what I did:
SP<-SpatialPoints(cbind(126.59,-14.30),proj4string=CRS("+proj=longlat"))

memory reduction
As those of you who watch CVS will be aware Wayne has been
making progress in reducing memory requirements of rsync.
Much of what he has done has been the product of discussions
between he and myself that started a month ago with John Van
Essen.
Most recently Wayne has changed how the file_struct and its
associated data are allocated, eliminating the string areas.
Most of these changes have been

quotation marks and scan
Dear R People:
I'm sure that this is a very simple problem, but I have been wresting with
it for some time.
I have the following file that has the following one line:
CRS("+init=epsg:28992")
Fair enough. I scan it into R and get the following:
> u
[1] "CRS(\"+init=epsg:28992\")"
> gsub(pattern='\"',replacement='"',x=u)

converting coordinates from utm to longitude / latitude
Hi,
is there a function in R to convert data read with read.shape and which is originally in UTM coordinates into longitude / latitude coordinates?
I found the convUL() function from the PBSmapping package but I have no idea how I could apply that to the read.shape object.
Many thanks,
Werner

OCFS2 on CentOS 4.5 for CRS/RAC
Hi,
I sent an email to Mark Fisheh of Oracle Corp. & posted this issue at OTN under Linux thread this morning. I hope that someone among you might have experienced this and can help. On that basis, I am sending this to you too. I am stuck & will really appreciate if you can shed some light on this.
Thanks.

sp: proj4string has no impact
Hi all,
I'm faced with a problem applying the sp package: The projection argument in
readShapePoly(Shapefile,proj4string="CRS class argument")
e.g.: CRS("+proj=aea +lat_1=46 +lat_2=73 +lat_0=60 +lon_0=84 +x_0=0
+y_0=0 +ellps=clrk66 +units=m +no_defs")
doesn't have any impact on the plotted object. I also tested the simple
example:
xy = cbind(x = 2 * runif(100) -

[PATCH] fix install-strip target in Makefile
The first patch will make "make install-strip" work. The second spends
a few cycles avoiding "1 files to consider." Both are trivial but IMHO
useful.

experiments with slot functions and possible problems NOTE
Hello,
first of all, thanks to LT for \pkg{codeutils}. I agree that it is
indeed very useful to identify errors and also to encourage re-thinking
past solutions. My problem:
I want to compare different sets of related sub-functions which should
be used alternatively by the same top-level function. Sets of related
functions should be bound together (as lists) and the workspace should
be as clean

spTransform longlat to utm
Dear all,
I am trying to project my LongLat-maps to a plane.
The ultimate purpose is to do a search of points in vicinity of other points using overlay-commands (sp) with radius in km.
I am applying spTransform (package rgdal) and it gives my some curious results.
An example.
Let's take a point lying somewhere in Germany, zone=32U
x <- 8.968735
y <- 49.454735
After conversion I

merge rsync+ into rsync (was Re: rsync-2.4.7 NEWS file)
> Just curious: what about the rsync+ patch?
Thanks for the reminder.
I've just committed Jos's rsync+ patch onto the
"branch_mbp_rsyncplus_merge" branch. If it works OK and nobody
screams I will move it across onto the main tree tomorrow or
Wednesday.
I see the patch doesn't add documentation about the new options to the
man page, so we should fix that in the future.
