Speex hardware requirements?
Also, you would be sattisfied with the narrowband decoding because the
GBA sound quality isn't very good, however, that depends greatly on what
you're going to do with speex on a GBA.... (an RPG with audio dialogs?
;-)) also, using a DSP in a GBA Cartridge sounds like overkill to me,
however, that depends greatly on what are you developing and what's your
target audience....

Speex and Symbian
Hi every one,
I know that speex suports Symbian now in the unstable release but I
wounder if any one can compile a decoder for Symbian MMF? I have googled
for one but ending up with only "yes, speex suports Symbina" and no
binary.
I would use it to finaly listen on my audiobooks but I think it would be a
good demonstration aplication.
Best Regards

rsync, ssh and DSA key
hi all
I have generated the key in the source server(10.78.0.107)
ssh-keygen -t dsa -C "root@10.78.0.107"
I have added this key to authorized_keys2 of the destination
server(10.78.0.117)
cat id_dsa.pub >> /root/.ssh/authorized_keys2
but when I execute
rsync -avz -e ssh root@10.78.0.107:/var/mail/ /var/mail
in the destination server I asck me for the password

Speex hardware requirements?
Compared to todays PDAs the GameBoy Advance (GBA) is low spec. it has a
16MHz ARM7tdmi RISC processor. 32-bit but it can handle 16-bit
instructions in a mode that resembles "bytecode" (a 32-bit instruction
is executed using a 16-bit instruction). I got a feeling that the GBA
would need a FPU.

Rsync + SSH on a different port + restricted access
Hello,
I'm trying to setup Rsync over SSH with openSSH running port 2222 with a remote RSA public key authentification and a restricted shell to avoid the user to browse my server via SSH, only be able to run rsync server.
1) i've built a regular rsync server over TCP/873
Worked fine, check my conf :
motd file = /etc/rsyncd.motd
log file = /var/log/rsyncd.log

Cube rotation
Hi,
First of all I would like to say that I love the work you are doing.
Xgl/compiz is a great project! I really appreciate what you are doing :)
However, there is one feature that I'm missing, or rather the possibility to
disable another feature. I would like to be able to use multiple viewports,
but I don't want the rotation animation. Sure, rotating the desktop to
switch viewport is

Question about rsync and BIG mirror
Hello,
I'm quite a n00b on rsync stuff but I went to the website, read
FAQ/how-to, Google and more, I setup my own rsync server and clients:
everything works fine :-D
I'm preparing a plan for a production mode in my company: we need to
mirror around 100GB of data trough a special VPN internet line 2MB
symmetric.
The first time, the data will be transferred by a media such as a HD.

Speex hardware requirements?
I think narrowband decoding should work then (at least if you disable
perceptual enhancement). As for wideband, it would at least require
shortcuts in the QMF (replacing with IIR filter) to work.

Speex hardware requirements?
Hi evrybody,
I wonder witch hardware requirements it is for speex decoding
(especially 16kHz mono sound).
Could it be possible to use the Gameboy advance hardware if you added a
FPU? or dose it need to be more powerfull?

pangocairo missing can't install
Hi,
configure fail on this message:

I could not figure out what the missing package name on debian.
There are a lot or package related to pango and cairo but none of those
how seen to me relevant solve the problem.
Please advise

backup system files (and permissions) over ssh
how do you backup system files like /etc/ over ssh to another machine
and keep permissions the same on the remote backup location ?
i tried using -a flag, but because i'm connecting through ssh i'm not using Rsync module on the remote computer and therefore i cant write files as root so -a flag is not working.
all the files are being written with owner SSH_USER and group SSH_USER_GROUP

pam_winbind
Is there a flavor of the pam_winbind module that uses Challenge/Response
(CRAP) for authentication? I have samba-3.0.25 and the pam_winbind
module only does cleartext. This fails when trying to authenticate
against AD. I'd like to switch our app from using ntlm_auth to pam. I
did a quick hack an added winbind_auth_request_crap() and it works, but
I'm wondering if anyone else has

Speex hardware requirements?
Hi,
Decoding Speex is really cheap (about 10x faster than encoding). I
expect most PDAs (no FPU) will be able to decode Speex at 16 kHz in
real-time. I have no idea what CPU the Gameboy advance uses, so I can't
say.

HiddenStore option may be useful
I'm missing a HiddenStore option in OpenSSH, known from some ftp-server
implementations like ProFTPd.
Consider the following scenario:
- A process PROCA is frequently polling the directory for a file called
myfile.txt
- Someone transfers this file via sftp or scp to the directory
- While transfer is going on and the file is not completely written,
PROCA reads in the file and removes is

File Locking under Windows - a solution ?
We are currently using Rsync (with cygwin) to propagate static files
from a preview server (Windows) to our live servers (Windows) on demand.
Unfortunately, because the live servers are *live*, inevitably some of
the files we mean to update are in use and therefore locked by the
windows filesystem. Since they are locked, they are not updated, and our
servers get out of synch.
Does anyone know

tcl/tk rsync wrapper planned
Hello,
we did some research and we would like to try to write a Tcl/Tk wrapper
around rsync.
Tcl/Tk -
- is easy to write
- has nice GUI library
- is cross platform
- has several installers
Would somebody be interested to participate?
Our goal is -
To have a small Windows XP and OS X backup applications that allow the
user to select a folder which is sent to a remote server.
