rsync creates wrong sized files
I'm having a pretty serious rsync bug, which I've submitted to the Debian bug system. But as the rsync maintainer there seems to be a bit slow in fixing problems, I thought perhaps I should report it here as well. I'm using rsync 2.6.2 on a Debian woody system, with libc 2.2.5. I have rsync running daily to mirror the Debian archives, mainly for i386 files. The command I use is

using rsync to keep squeeze amd64 image freshened.
Hi all, ? ? ? I tried to get my query of how to use rsync by the mailing list debian-user at lists.debian.org but the answers were not satisfactory. You can see the whole thread starting from http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2010/12/msg00651.html What I want to do is to keep the weekly amd64 squeeze build , from t its

Hurd boot difficulties.
I am working with multiboot module "mboot.c32". I have had luck using it to boot NetBSD and the Hurd kernel. The problem with booting the Hurd kernel is apparently connected to the extended syntax passed along to it by grub. Grub passes Hurd kernel approximately 4 files, some of which are modules, and another ten (or so) boot arguments, which correspond to those modules and kernel. The

[PATCH] ./configure fails to recognize alphapca56 (R-1.1.0)
I think I reported this bug in the past. At that time, I was told that it is a bug of autoconf. ./configure does not recognize Linux on DEC Alpha 21164PC (a cheap version of Alpha EV56), so all the compilation flags were set incorrectly. I don't know the right way to fix it (I don't know how autoconf works yet ...), but the following patch fixes the problem. Thank you, Naoki Naoki

[LLVMdev] Porting LLVM, clang et al. to GNU/Hurd
Hi! At night, when having my GNU Hurd maintainer hat on, I'm currently working on porting LLVM, clang et al. to x86-class systems using the GNU Hurd as their kernel, <http://www.gnu.org/software/hurd/>. In the following, I'll just use LLVM to refer to the whole suite of tools. To some extent, LLVM already works on GNU/Hurd; thanks for constructing it in a portable fashion. From

apt.llvm.org has the wrong binaries/headers for llvm-toolchain-xenial-7
It appears that there was an out-of-band patch from Samuel Thibault: https://salsa.debian.org/pkg-llvm-team/llvm-toolchain/blob/7/debian/patches/D54378-hurd-triple.diff Although the patch was approved here https://reviews.llvm.org/D54378 Is this patch going to land in 7.0.1 or 8? kristopher > Here's further proof: > > wget >

Hi, here's a patch so that ssh also supports hurd-i386. Thanks for incorporating. The patch comes from Robert Bihlmeyer <robbe at orcus.priv.at>. > openssh 2.2.0p1-1.1 does not build on the Hurd. It looks like libplugin_common.a is being linked into the shared object libxmms-flac.so. [PATCH] inspect: use check_tests also for detecting Hurd
Even though the list of checks is very short, at least this migrates from imperative checks to a "declarative" one. There should be no behaviour change, other than using os-release if it contains all the needed information. --- daemon/inspect_fs_unix.ml | 19 ++++++++++++------- 1 file changed, 12 insertions(+), 7 deletions(-) diff --git a/daemon/inspect_fs_unix.ml

patch for the HURD
This is a small/trivial patch to get HURD to _compile_ (I haven't gotten PRNG to work yet) openssh. All it does is define MAXHOSTNAMELEN in defines.h if it isn't already defined (there may need to be a library loaded first, or you may want to incorporate that patch into canohost.c instead of defines.h). Anyway, small patch for canohost.c and defines.h because HURD doesn't use
