Problem with mapping, userid that gets sent by NT
I am having a problem with mapping drives to a samba server (1.9.18p4 and
1.9.17) that is very reproducible. The 1.9.18p4 is a modified server that
has some special krb5 support in it (in addition to the stuff you
previously added that I sent you).
Here are two examples that are repeatable. Each is preceeded by killing
any samba daemons that are for connections from the host in question.

SAMBA 1.9.18p10 problem
I have been using Samba 1.9.18p8 in a Solaris 2.6 machine for months
but suddenly this week there is a problem. Nothing's changed.
I have some persistent connection of my NTSP3 client to the samba share.
When I login as usual, it fails to mount the drive. It either prompt for
password but whatever password the samba rejects, or give a "Access is
Denied" when you try to access the

Possible MemCpyOpt bug?
Hi all,
I think I've managed to trick the legacy MemCpyOpt (MCO) into an incorrect
transform, but I would like to confirm the validity of my counterexample
before
working on the fix. Suppose the following IR:
%T = type { i32, i32 }
define void @f(%T* %a, %T* %b, %T* %c, %T* %d) {
%val = load %T, %T* %a, !alias.scope !{!10}
; store1
; Aliases the load

[LLVMdev] Question about Pre-RA-schedule in LLVM3.3
The flag -enable-aa-sched-mi should do what you want you want in the MachineScheduler pass.
If you want to do it in the selection DAG, there is a subtarget hook that might do it:
TargetSubtargetInfo::useAA()
LLVM won’t generate the schedule you want anyway for Intel core processors, but the alias analysis can be useful in general.

Performance tips for heavily loaded servers
Does nayone have a collection of performance tips for heavily loaded
samba servers?
I have a server that routinely has 45-90 connections and just runs really
poorly. We've thrown more memory at it w/ some benefit, but not
significant.
This is on a linux 2.0.35 based machine.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

How to get nmbd to work?
I have NEVER been able to get nmbd to work in anything even remotely
approximating a usable fashion.
All I want it to do is DNS lookups.
I can't even get it to do that reliably. It looks in some cases like it
isn't even sending a response back to the querying clients.
When I do a request that fails, I get this:
---
nmb packet from 192.55.114.4(3175) header: id=8172 opcode=Query(0)

ACL support in rsync 2.6.6
Hi,
Can someone tell me the status of ext3 acl support in rsync?
I saw this post from may 2004 which seems to indicate there
is a patch.
http://lists.samba.org/archive/rsync/2004-May/009466.html
But it still appears that 2.6.6 doesn't have any acl support
included. Is that true?
Does anyone know where to get the latest patch for 2.6.6 if it
even exists?
Thanks
Paul

initramfs and kernel 2.6.7
Hi,
I 'am trying to launch linux kernel 2.6.7 with initramfs.
My pxelinux.cfg/default file looks as follows:
default a1
prompt 1
timeout 600
label a1
kernel vmlinuz-2.6.7-1
append initrd=initramfs_data.cpio.gz root=/dev/ram0 init=/linuxrc
Kernel image vmlinuz-2.6.7-1 and initramfs_data.cpio.gz was loaded
succesfully by pxelinux.
Kernel says:
checking if image is initramfs... it is

installing/updating rsync 2.6.7 on os x
I'm trying to update my rsync on os x 10.4.5.
downloaded the latest rsync-2.6.7.tar.gz
as described in the configure --help I started ./configure and the
output tells me that all works out fine.
then running rsync (in /usr/local/bin) in bash the output still tells
me, it would be: rsync version 2.6.0 protocol version 27
what am I doing wrong?
thanks

How to compile Rsync with acl support on Cygwin
Problem:
-------
For sometime now, I have wanted to be able to rsync ACLs of files on windows
machines to a Linux server. I never saw anyone post anything about how to
make it work. I tried, but I was never able to compile on Cygwin when I
patched the source with the acls.diff patch. ./configure would error out
after displaying:
