barplot and ylim - display problems
The following single line of code shows what I am trying to do, and the
problem I am having...
barplot(c(101,102,103),ylim=c(100,103))
The 'xaxis' is missing, and the grey bars 'fall off' the plot area. This
is generally ugly, and I would like to trim the bars (ideally they would
have a ragged appearance to show that I am 'zooming in').
I can see why what I am trying to

Can email be shared between POP3 and shell account access?
I needed to receive a message to admin at mydomain.com. I waited and
waited for it, but it never showed up in the admin mailbox on the
mydomain.com machine. So I looked for the admin account in
/etc/dovecot.passwd, and there it was, plain-text password and all! I
set up a retrieval system for the admin POP3 account and got all the
messages I was waiting for, not to mention about 20 that I

confidence interval
Hi,
I have a circular shaped set of point on the plane (X,Y) centered in
zero. The distribution is more dense close to zero and less dense far
from zero.
I need to find the radius of a circle centered in zero that contains
65% of the points in the sample. Is there any R directive that can do
this?
I wanna start with 2D set of points, but the real case scenario is
with a 5D set of points.

filename paths different in server mode
For some reason rsync-2.6.4 compiled by me on HP-UX 11.23 in 64-bit
mode is adding extra path elements when running in server mode. This
is a new problem. It did not used to do that with older versions and
it does not do that with compilations on other systems.
$ rsync -a ewok::cadroot/release/bin/ .
$ ls
bin
Where did that extra directory come from? Testing with a different

Patch: sftp client support of "ls [flags] [path [localfile]]" feature
Hello,
I just downloaded OpenSSH 3.5p1. This version has some great improvement in
sftp client.
But I still miss the FTP's "ls [flags] remote-path [localpath]" feature to
redirect the output of ls/dir
to a local file.
The following are the diff outputs against 3.5p1 to enable this feature.

rsync hangs during --remove-source-files
Hi,
I'm using the following command to move files from a to b:
rsync -avvvv --remove-source-files --ignore-existing /path/to/dir1/
/path/to/dir2 >> logfile
dir2 isn't empty so I only move files from dir1 to dir2 that don't exist
already.
Every so often rsync stops in the middle and doesn't continue with the
result that I have to kill it.
The last time it happened, rsync had

problem with exclude
I've tried all of the permutations of exclude I can think of, so presumably I have some fundamental misunderstanding. The goal here is to exclude the file tv11.html in the ftp directory.
rsync -avvvv -n --verbose --one-file-system -exclude='ftp/tv1.html' /usr/local/src /Media/sata/usr/local > /tmp/rsync

rsync over ssh fails with --files-from
Hi, I've been using rsync on fedora over ssh to sync directories for
decades, but suddenly having a problem with transferring multiple files at
a time to one specific host using --files-from. I can't think of what might
have changed to have caused this. Using rsync to transfer a single file to
this problematic host works successfully. It appears to be related to the
number of files in the

public subnet routing
Just wondering if someone could answer this question for me.
I would like to route public addresses only. Their will be no firewall
but maybe a few rules to deny certain types of traffic. Here is the
configuration of the router.
My provider gave a me a /30 link to their router
also they gave me a /25 network for my customers public ip''s
Their cisco router has static route entrys for my

Problems with rsync between NAS mounted filesystems
Hi All,
Here is my setup. I've to two NAS filesystems mounted on a SunFire
V490. They're mounted on /rsync/ieeprodhome/ECF and
/rsync/ieeprodhome2/ECF. The ieeprodhome filesystem is 1.008 TB wiht
812GB used and the ieeprodhome2 filesystem is 1.2TB with 813GB used.
One other thing to add that might be of importance is that the source
filesystem has over 100k files in it.

smbd - wide links / possible buffer failure??
Hello there,
sorry - my first mail seems to be lost?
Might be I am wrong, but it seems that the behavior of wide link option
has been changed since 2.2.7. So we have some problems on our large side
to upgrade to 2.2.8a. Here is what I found, but it may be not the
intention of samba developer!
There ist a new function called readlink_checkin smbd/vfs.c. In this
function is a pattern compare
