[Bug 2645] --one-file-system semantics changed with 2.6.4 (bug?)
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2645
------- Additional Comments From dalgoda@ix.netcom.com 2005-04-24 11:36 -------
It looks like the culprit is the change for receiver.c 1.130. It pulled the
call to send_file_list(-1,...), which is what handled the one_file_system code.
It's not like we can easily go back either, since flist.c 1.267 removed support
for f=-1.
Bummer.

Windows binary packages & R-Forge
Hi room,
There seems to be a problem with the Windows building machines of
R-Forge. All our packages with Fortran source code cannot be compiled
for Windows. The error in the log file is
make[3]: gfortran: Command not found
It seems that gfortran is not installed. Is there any plan to fix this
or am I doing something wrong on R-Forge?
thanks in advance for your advises.
regards,
Yohan

Rsync 2.6.4 released
I have released rsync 2.6.4. This version has quite a few enhancements
over 2.6.3, some optimizations in the delete handling, and the usual
collection of bug fixes.
I'd like to say "thanks" to everyone who downloaded and tested one of
the pre-release versions -- the feedback was very helpful!
A summary of the changes since 2.6.3 is available here:

[Patch] upssched broken in version 2.6.4 with command with two arguments
Hi,
the last commit to upssched.c (Merge Coverity branch, r3555) broke
upssched with commands that have a second argument.
If a command with a second argument is used, "enc" in line 697 is not an
empty buffer and snprintfcat() just appends some stuff, i.e. the
following command
CANCEL onbatt online
becomes
onlineCANCEL "onbatt" "online"
and is then sent to the

2.6.3, 2.6.4 incompatibilities
I am wondering if there are known incompatibilities
between 2.6.3 and 2.6.4?
I have a debian box with 2.6.4 and a FC3 box with
2.6.3. Most of the time rsync works fine between the
two but I am running this command on FC3 box:
rsync -azvv --stats --delete
--files-from=/root/.rsb2.tmp /
nathan@debian:/home/backup/bkp.01
And I am getting this error message:

for testing/examiniation: updated esfq patch for 2.6.4
Since I admin the gateway for a network of bandwidth-greedy machines, I
figured that esfq with "hash src" would be a more fair allocation of
bandwidth than sfq. Unfortunately, there didn''t seem to be a recent
patch for 2.6, so I endeavored to build one. The three patches I made
(described below) are available within the attached tar.bz2 or at:

2.6.4 Potential protocol-corrupting bug
Hi all,
I was just wondering if the following bugfix in 2.6.4 was a serious problem that could cause
a problem in a destination file and if it did would that get picked up by the checksum ?
Cheers - Steve
- Fixed a potential protocol-corrupting bug where the generator could
merge a message from the receiver into the middle of a multiplexed
packet of data if only part of that

DNS lookup failures with rsync 2.6.4 on HP UX 11
Hello All,
I have compiled Rsync 2.6.4 on HP UX 11 using gcc 4.0. rsync binary
fails to query DNS for a host name. If I give IP address instead of host
name everything works ok. I tried to run snoop on DNS server by failed
to recieve any packets. This would mean that rsync is not every hitting
DNS server.
I get this error message
*rsync -v hello::
rsync: getaddrinfo: hello 873: host nor
