[PATCH/RFC OSSTEST] Debian PV netboot guest test
I''ve been working on this on the odd occasion, I think it mostly works,
or it did last I tried which was a while back. I''m sure it is too hacky
in places. My plan was to clean it up on the next test day.
I''m mostly just sending this for Wei''s benefit since he is independently
looking at adding Debian HVM guest tests for OVMF purposes.

Wierd 8.3 Name Mangling
I've installed Samba 3.0.7 (stock Debian package), but I'm having some
wierd problems with name mangling. The relevant lines in smb.conf are:

mangle prefix = 5
mangling method = hash2

Symantec Ghost Explorer 11
Hi guys
I was wondering if anyone can help me with the issues I'm having with

Anyway, I have wine on the default settings and run :
# wine Ghostexp.exe
The ghost explorer window opens great but I do have the following in the shell

tftp pxe and dos
So I have a few questions. I have already made the base part of making a
windows TFTPD running with memedisk. So that part works, but what I was
wondering, if there is a way to some how add an option to the config file.
What I have is something like this:
label winstall
kernel unattended/memdisk
append initrd=unattended/winstall.imz
That all works great, However, for each image, I have

Samba & Ghost BackUp Problem
Have two XP laptops that I am trying to get to back up to a Samba share
with Norton Ghost 2003. My laptop is "gtwylptp" and my son's, a Dell
8600 with a broadcom 440x NIC, is "stu07-53".
I am the user and group backing up both machines. "gtwylptp" backs up
without a problem however "stu07-53" hangs as apparently the Lock file
has "RDONLY"

[cfe-dev] proposal - pragma section directive in clang
Thanks Reid/Jonathon for your replies.
Reid,
An important case against module level flags is that it wont allow changing or resetting section names e.g.
int a;
#pragma clang section bss = "xyz"
int b;
In case above, users would like to see only 'b' placed in 'xyz' and not 'a' as well.
Link pointed to by Jonathon seems to require same behavior.

[cfe-dev] proposal - pragma section directive in clang
Hi Reid,
Unfortunately yes, it is.
> If we do go with approach 3, I'd recommend adding a single metadata
attachment that controls all sections a global could possibly live in
(text, data, rdata, bss).
I agree with this, although I think using metadata here wouldn't be right -
don't we need to use attributes when dropping metadata would cause
miscompiles?

merging to data.frames whose columns are different but follow a pattern.
Hi,
I'm working with panel data from the Swiss Houshold Panel (SHP). The data i
got came in the following way:
1.) 12 *different* /individual/ files - one for each year .
2.) 12 *different* /houshold/ files - again: one for each year
Each file came in the SPSS format (.sav). I implemented all the files in R
an managed (via rename, cbind, rbind, merge etc.) to get *two* files.
The first file

DNS frustration
I'm getting fed up with the whole DNS scenario with Samba4. I'm literally
about to go insane. I've spent about 60 hours in the last two weeks and I
can't seem to figure out a solution that meets my requirements. So what
are my requirements?
* A Samba4 AD domain.
* A DHCP server for approx 100 windows clients/devices
* A DNS server whose forward and reverse zones get updated when

Privileges
Hi all!
I need a non-root user to be able to perform zfs snapshots and rollbacks.
Does anybody know what privileges that should be specified in
/etc/user_attr ?
Best regards,

Can't get wine to run any programs: included error message.
Okay I just installed the latest ver of Ubuntu and then installed the beta ver of Wine because the non-beta told me that it wouldn't install on AMD x 64 type computers.
So I just installed the beta Wine version and I can't get any programs to run at all using wine.
I also am having many pages on this forum stalling out, so i tried to read the user manual but i am not able to load it.

[PATCH RFC V2 0/6] OSSTest: OVMF test job
RFC v2 of this series
This series implements a basic test job for OVMF guest. The test case will
install an OVMF guest and try to boot it.
It is also possible to derive a debian HVM installation test case from
ts-ovmf-debian-install - the only difference should be the BIOS option. I
tested running the test script without specifying BIOS, it worked fine. I just
didn''t figure out a

R benchmark, moble Pentium III, 1.13 GHs
Hi Jason,
I suppose you installed the Matrix library, and it is working on your computer? If yes, may be det.Matrix() was removed, or renamed in the Matrix library you have (I cannot check this for the latest version, because I am away of the office until August 1st), but I will do that next week.
In the meantime, you can replace 'det.Matrix' by 'det.default', and it should run.

Rsync 2.6.9 does not skip any files based on modification time
Hi
I am trying to rsync some ghost images from a windows client running Windows
XP to my Linux server. The problem is that rsync sends the complete files
again even if nothing changed on the client side. The only way to avoid this
is to use the "-c"-option but this takes nearly as long as uploading the
files would.
The server is running rsync-2.6.9, /etc/rsyncd.conf looks as follows.
