rsync 2.6.2 crashing (was: No Subject)
Hi,
I'm using rsync/ssh/cygwin to sync two very large directory hierarchies. While testing with one of the subdirectories (this subhierarchy has about 1000 subfolders and 17000 files), I experience the following behavior:
rsync 2.6.2 on both ends.
Client command:
rsync -v -v -r --delete -t --progress --rsh="ssh -l mpdm -i ADMIN/rsa-mpdm01" MPDM-W2K3::"MPDM/17B -

rsync 2.6.2 hang (was rsync 2.6.2 crash)
OK, I set up a new PC with a fresh XP load to be my rsync server. Rsync by itself seems
to work fine (thank God. I'm going nuts.)
I am still having problems when I throw ssh into the mix. At least now, things don't
crash, but they do hang. The file list gets build, the transfer starts and it gets through
maybe a few hundred files, but then everything stops. All the processes are still

rsync 2.6.2 crash
OK, I will do that next. I just tried 2.6.1 on both ends, and it died in a similar fashion.

Wine 1.1.18-6.1 is crashing under Arch Linux x86_64. An example of the crash happens when I run winecfg :

DLL Injection -> segfaults on wine
Hi,
I've started today programming with a windows library which I especially want to use in Wine.
This library replaces one that is for windows native program and I'm trying to create a similar library that communicates with a native linux replacement of the program for windows.
This library needs to be injected into some special processes like the windows one did (it's an SDK,

Problem since Wine 1.2-rc1
Hi!
Wine is completely not working for me since the release of the 1.2-versions.
Any try to start an app with wine or running one o wine's apps itself (winecfg etc) results in a freeze of wine.
This is whatthe console delivers me for winecfg:

Samba 3.0 PDC, exchange 5.5 installing service pack 4 fails.
I created a brand new nt 4.0 server with exchange 5.5 server in my samba
3.0 pdc domain with no problems. The exchange server runs fine under
the samba 3.0 pdc, but when I try to install exchange 5.5 sp4 on the
exchange server the service pack gives me an Dr. Watson error. The
exchange service pack makes it through the copying of the service pack
files and then modifies the registry settings for

two unrelated issues, lastlogin, and an out of memory fatal error
Hello Aki and everyone,
"Increase memory, your cache takes more memory than you have anticipated."
What setting do I need to update in dovecot? I hope your not talking
about the vps it has 4GB of ram.
Thanks.
Dave.

Best way to move mail from one server to another
If you have lots of data, you can make an initial pass with rsync whilst
the old server is running and another rsync pass (with --delete, use dry
run to test) when you've shut down the old server to sync the changes
since the initial pass.
Good luck!

OOPS on 2.4.20-ac2
Hi,
I got the OOPS below on my laptop running vanilla 2.4.20-ac2; I had to
copy it byhand so it may not be 100% accurate. It hasn't happened
again, and this is the first problem I've had with this kernel (or any
other kernel, for that matter.) Anyway, I'm not sure, if a) this is
actually an ext3 problem, b) OOPS reports of 2.4.20-ac2 are of any
interest, so I won't bother with

64-bit chess engines and wine 1.2
Hi,
an interesting new feature of wine 1.2 is it's 64-bit support. Many Windows chess engines gain about 50-80% speed increase when running at 64-bit. Most provide 32-bit and 64-bit engines. But on my 64-bit Ubuntu 10.04 only an error message appears i.e. with the free Stockfish 1.8.

Centos 7 (using iptables) removed firewalld
Hello,?
I hope that I can ask some questions on this mailing list about IPTables.
I am more familiar with IPTABLES instead of FIREWALLD.? I disabled FIREWALLD and installed?iptables-services.
I have put together a script that I found on the web on how to set up a good set of IPTABLES rules to keep my server as secure as possible.
I have two NICs. ETH0 and ETH1. ETHO is the internet and ETH1 is my
