Getting EEXIST out of make_bak_dir()
I have users running rsync 3.0.6 on Mac OS 10.5 and 10.6 with the following arguments (for example): rsync -aNHAXx --fileflags --force-change --no-inc-recursive --delete-during --filter="P _Archive*" --filter="P /*" --backup --backup-dir="_Archive_2010_March_07_22-27-43" / /Volumes/Backup I can't seem to figure out how make_bak_dir could be returning this error

Wins registration vanishes
Has anyone seen this yet? I am having a problem with the my WINS entry for my Samba server disappearing from the WINS database. After this takes place I am no longer able to access my Samba server so I am forced to restart NMBD and a new entry is placed in the WINS database. Although over time this entry will vanish again and I have to repeat the restart process. I am aware that I can add a

Yesterday I upgraded rsync from 2.6.9 to 3.0.2 (as part of upgrading Fedora 8 to Fedora 9). Today, I received these unexpected errors: rsync: make_bak_dir mkdir "/backup/server/../server-before-5/var" failed: File exists (17) rsync: keep_backup failed: "/backup/server/var/lib/rpcbind/rpcbind.file" -> "../server-before-5/var/lib/rpcbind/rpcbind.file": Success (0)

Intermittent make_bak_dir mkdir "<path>" failed: File exists (17)
Rare and intermittent message groups suggest a race condition ... ? Here's the pattern of messages: rsync: make_bak_dir mkdir <path> failed: File exists (17) rsync: keep_backup failed: <path> -> <path>: No such file or directory (2) rsync: stat <path> failed: No such file or directory (2) How rarely? We run a scripted rsync daily on ~50 personal computers and

rsync script from homepage: trouble
Hello, I'm new to this and am trying to modify the "backup to a central backup server with 7 day incremental" script from http://samba.anu.edu.au/rsync/examples.html to suit my situation. I have ended up with the script attached below and when running it from command line I get these errors: rsync error: syntax or usage error (code 1) at main.c(726) and a plethora of this >

[patch 0/4] [RFC] Another proportional weight IO controller
Hi, If you are not already tired of so many io controller implementations, here is another one. This is a very eary very crude implementation to get early feedback to see if this approach makes any sense or not. This controller is a proportional weight IO controller primarily based on/inspired by dm-ioband. One of the things I personally found little odd about dm-ioband was need of a dm-ioband

Java related (?) problems with RWeka
Hello all, I am attempting to run an R script that makes use of RWeka. I am running SuSE Linux 9.3 with Java 1.5.0_06, R version 2.2.1, Weka 3-4-7, and Rweka 0.2-1. Usage of rJava (.jcall) with Weka functions, any example?
Dear All, I'd like to use Weka functions that are not implemented (do not have interface) in RWeka, like the Remove function and others in the future! The .java() functionality is for that purpose but I haven't seen any example with Weka functions. Could anyone give me hand in how to do it? For instace if I want to use the weka.filters.unsupervised.attribute.Remove? 1. in the R console,

RWeka control parameters classifiers interface
Hello, I have some trouble in achieving the desired parametrisation for the weka classifier functions, using the package RWeka. The problem is, that the functions result=classifier(formula, data, subset, na.action, control = Weka_control(mycontrol)) do not seem to be manipulated by the mycontrol- arguments Perhaps this should be resepected via the handlers- argument , but the

[PATCH] Add --preserve-atime switch to rsync
In the past there have been discussions about adding a switch to rsync to preserve the atime on files being copied by rsync. I needed this function for a project I'm working on and decided to invent it. I've attached the diffs. Note that this has the limitations describe in previous emails, namely that preserving atime causes ctime to not be preserved. *** Patch follows *** ***

Question about the RWEKA package
Dear List, I´m trying to implement the functionalities from WEKA into my modeling project in R through the RWeka package. In this context I have a slightly special question about the filters implemented in WEKA. I want to convert nominal attributes with k values into k binary attributes through the NominalToBinary filter ("weka.filters.supervised.attribute.NominalToBinary"). But
