--link-dest when target and compare_dir both have file

Here's the situation: We want to do: $ rsync -a --link-dest=../backup.1 source/ backup.0/ There is a file present under all three

celt-dev Digest, Vol 34, Issue 2
So, once all those things are in place what Andrew says WILL happen? I think plans as important as that deserves an announcement. Roadmap for the project? Future directions for the main committers? High Sampling Rates
? Do you have any references for me to investigate, I am trying to understand how noise is reduced by introducing higher sampling rates. (I tried to search, but maybe it is so obvious that nobody even explains it) This is not very obvious. It requires you to understand basic signal processing theory. I will give some pointers below. Any physical signal (e.g. audio coming out of speaker, current

missing .dlls .exes?
Hi there; I have samba-2.2.7a installed as PDC for Windows2K, XP, 98 (have not tested yet. It appears to work with 2K and XP. However, I have a few problems and I'd appreciate your comments. 1) net time \\linux /yes takes 30-40second on both 2K and XP 2) logging in on the server gives me the following errors: unix_clean_name [/wshENU.DLL] unix_clean_name [wshENU.DLL]

Nis homedirs
Greetings, I'm using 2.0.0-alpha13 on Solaris (compiling with gcc 2.8.1 on Solaris 2.5, running on 2.5, 2.5.1, and 2.6). I see this in the smb.conf.5 man page: nis homedir (G) Get the home share server from a NIS (or YP) map. For unix systems that use an automounter, the user's home directory will often be mounted on a workstation on demand from a remote

good snapshot solution
Hi all, I have installed rsync 2.5.5 as daemons on our 35 Netware servers (no 2.5.6 is yet available for Netware) and do a daily sync from a Linux Rsync client machine with 1.2 TB disk capacity. For the moment we do a daily, weekly and monthly backup on tape of this machine, but I'd like to replace the daily backups by a disc-based setup. It would be good to be able to share the

R CMD check failure on minimal code

rsync resources list
I am just wondering what the criteria is for getting something added to the rsync resouces page, http://samba.anu.edu.au/rsync/resources.html. I have recently been working on a small little program, RSBackup, that I use to backup my computers to each other. Limiting the concern of a hardware failure causing me to lose any of my bits. Basically it takes the tutorial by Mike Rubel on using rsync
