After upgrade to 2.0.6, Win98 users can't connect to Samba shares
Hello everyone -
I just upgraded from Samba 1.9.16p9 to 2.0.6 last week. Samba is running
on my Digital UNIX 4.0E (aka Tru64 aka OSF1) workstation, and I have
various Win'95, Win'98, and NT 4.0 (SP4 & SP6) computers accessing the
Samba shares. One share is read-only, and one is read/write to specific
users (I've included my smb.conf file below). If a users accesses the

I'm running samba 2.2.4 on rh 7.2. Everything's been working well
for months.
I use the domain logon feature to map drives when '98 users logon
to the domain.
Recently I've had a couple machines refuse to process the logon
script and I can't figure out why.
Here's the Windows output:

smbclient 3.2: smbc errno NT_STATUS_OK -> 22
As I was upgrading other things, the Debian package management system required me to upgrade Samba, from 3.0.24-6 to 3.2.0-4.
All the sudden it quit working, which means I can't run an smbget or smbclient will allow DIR and CD but not GET. Either way with the new version I get (debugging on at level 10)

C caron character in R
Hi!
In R 1.6.1. for Windows using RGui interface I try to use characters of
Slovenian alphabet. Slovenia is a small Slavic country south of Austria
with 3 characters which are not found in English alphabet, namely C, S
and Z- all with caron. As S and Z are presented OK in both Console and
Graphics window, this is not the case with C caron, which is shown as E
acute- for an example please see:

how LLVM deals with 'undef'
Hi,
I'm using LLVM-3.8 (current SVN version) to optimize my code. After loop
unrolling, I find there is 'undef' in the IR. For example, "*%.lcssa21.unr
= phi double [ undef, %.lr.ph9 ], [ %13, %7 ]*". I have two questions:
(1) Why this 'undef' is generated? Because before 'loop unrolling', there
is no such 'undef'.
(2) How LLVM backend deals with

[PATCH] Add safe wrapper around waitpid which deals with EINTR correctly.
As Eric Blake noted in:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2016-April/msg00154.html
libguestfs doesn't correctly handle the case where waitpid receives a
SIGCHLD signal and the main program has registered a non-restartable
signal handler.
In this case waitpid would return -EINTR and we would print an error,
but actually we should retry this case.
This adds two new internal functions,

slow start-up
Dear all,
I'm working with R 1.2.2 on win98 (256Mb RAM) with ESS 5.1.18.
It happens that the start-up is very slow. I don't know exactly how to measure, but with a simple watch I recorded 15 seconds, while the startup of S+ 2000 (Sqpe+4 under ESS) takes around 3 seconds.
Tha fact is that sometimes it takes almost a minute (58.30 sec recorded) for the prompt to appear! And ESS gives me an

IP address
hello all,
I'm running Samba on a Fedora 9 installation, on a network of approx. 75
workstations. Using SMB4K, to browse, it only shows the Fedora box on
the network, and the IP address is wrong. The IP is configured to
192.168.0.xx but it shows 172.16.140.x, I'm really a little lost on this
one. Take that back, I'm way lost.

Wine, M$Excel and MSCREATE.DIR
Hi,
Is it possible to get M$Excel working with Wine?
I use Mandrake 9.1 with wine-20030115-4mdk and M$Excel97 SR1
I always get an error about MSCREATE.DIR when I launch Excel.
Console messages are:
