[ruby-libvirt] who's using it
Hey all, I would like to know who / what project is using this binding. So I could learn the API a bit easier than reading through the rough rdoc-based API documentation, which is not really helpful to me, as I do not know the C API yet either. my intention is, to some day, be able to create a Rails web app for managing libvirt hosts (mainly OpenVZ/vserver/LXC and possibly QEMU). Thanks in

Hello I''m new to the list. I installed a vserver (http://www.linux-vserver.org/) on my gentoo server As network interface is used an alias (eth1:0) eth1 is the card of my "loc" zone. eth1:0 has an address from the same subnet from the vserver I can connect to eth0 but not to the internet. Puppet in vserver
Hi I am looking for quite a while now to run Puppet inside a vserver. The installation worked perfectly, but when I run a test I get this message: smb-configmaster / # puppetd --server 192.168.0.144 --waitforcert 60 --test /usr/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/puppet/network/client/ca.rb:31:in `request_cert'': Certificate retrieval failed: Could not connect to 192.168.0.144 on port 8140

NUT control of vCenter & vServer?
Thanks Bart. Unfortunately "The VIB module does not comply with the security recommendations imposed by VMWare. You lose VMWare support by installing this package." This pretty much rules out this option. :( We need vCenter support, as well. nomad On Thu, May 14, 2020 at 10:06 AM Bart J. NUT control of vCenter & vServer?
That's certainly on the list of options. I'm doing data gathering right now to see what options there are. I'd prefer not to rashly decide to run off in a direction only to discover this is already a Solved Problem. nomad On Thu, May 14, 2020 at 1:13 PM Bart J. NUT control of vCenter & vServer?
Is anyone using NUT to signal/control vCenter and vServer (6.x) for shutdown when batteries are getting low? Any recommendations? We've found https://4sysops.com/archives/startup-and-shutdown-a-vmware-cluster-with-powercli-and-powershell/ but I'd prefer to do this from the master (which is running CentOS 8) and not pollute it by installing PS on it. thanks, nomad -------------- next part

Asterisk & Zaptel setup on vserver
Hello, I've been trying to setup asterisk with zaptel for the last 3-4 days. I had a lot of errors and fixed all of them but asterisk still didn't work. Then I saw that zaptel couldn't be loaded because I was on a vserver and I didn't have the devices under /dev/zap/. I asked the system guys to install zaptel, they did but now I am getting this error only: [Dec 14 16:59:39]

web frontend for managing libvirt servers
Hi all, I know that redhat has some web based GUI for managing libvirt clusters, however, I am not having purchased redhat :-) Is there any good open-source web frontend you can recommend for managing your libvirt instances? Ideally with VNC/spice support for connecting to the remote? I know of proxmox, which we used so far for our openvz containers, but I am about to migrate to KVM (and

VServer > Wine > Xserver
I have some vserver with Debian 5 Lenny 32bit and full root rights if necessary. I use wine to start a windows application which needs to open a gui. I followed this tutorial (http://www.lizardking.biz/2009/02/debian-5-multi-user-vnc/) to run the x11, xdm as login manager and fluxbox as windowmanager. I can login over VNC and i am able to start the program without any problems. I open the in

OS Virtualization: Linux-VServer and OpenVZ
Greetings, So, anyone on this list using OS Virtualization? I've been using OpenVZ for about 1.5 years. I also have some experience with Linux-VServer. In my experience, if you want to do Linux on Linux, both OpenVZ and Linux-VServer offer native performance, better scalability, and higher density than VMware, Xen or KVM... although I must admit I haven't actually tried KVM yet. facts are loaded twice
Hi, i''ve set up my puppet on several clients and today i noticed that the facts are loaded twice by the clients. I took strace to get the list of loaded fact file and i found that puppet seems to load the same fact files twice: chdir("/var/lib/puppet/lib/facter") = 0 open(".", O_RDONLY|O_NONBLOCK|O_DIRECTORY|O_CLOEXEC) = 6 info: Loading facts in vserver

new to ocfs2, backport and linux vserver
hello, i am new to the list and i wondered if any of you used ocfs2 with linux vserver ? It seems there is some incompatibility between them. Also i wondered if the ocfs2 module found in the 2.6.26 have any chance to be backported to a lesser kernel as linux vserver is for now limited to 2.6.22.19 and need the nmap added later :) -- Cordialement, Ghislain -------------- next part

[LLVMdev] LLVM program compile error w/ gcc 4.5 but not 4.4
Hi all, I can compile LLVM+clang (from svn 2.8 branch, fyi) just fine with gcc 4.4.5 and 4.5.1 on Linux/amd64 just fine, and I did successfully built LLVM+clang on Solaris10/amd64 (32bit built) just fine with gcc 3.3, too. However, when it comes to compiling my *own* project that builds atop of LLVM, I'm getting a strange compilation error when using GCC 4.5.1 but *NOT* when using GCC 4.4.5
