[PATCH 0/12] Add support for writing to hive files
This patch series adds support for some simple operations on hive
files, and I've now tested and verified that those operations work
correctly.
All except for the last patch (12/12) are ready to be committed. The
last patch is WIP.

[PATCH 0/3] hivex: Improve OS X support
This patch series improves, but does not complete, OS X support for
hivex. There are several outstanding issues before hivexml and hivexsh
can run:
* hivexsh uses open_memstream, which doesn't exist in OS X as near as I
can see. Unfortunately, I'm inexperienced with autoconf, so I'm not
sure how to employ AC_CHECK_FUNCS([open_memstream]) to conditionally add
'sh' to the

[PATCH 0/3] Export and merge into Windows Registry
As described here previously:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2010-March/msg00129.html
Here is the three part patch to reimplement virt-win-reg to support
exporting and merging Windows Registry entries in the 'regedit'
format.
Tested by me on a local Windows VM.

[Hivex] [PATCH] lib: Promote byte_conversions.h #include to hivex-internal.h
This patch addresses a build failure in OS X. Running git-bisect on a
straightforward build (bootstrap, autogen.sh, configure, make, make
install) showed this as the "Bad commit:"
3e7c039799cddc45517350cc917eb10715f33fec
The issue is that hivex-internal.h uses le32toh in a static inline
function. In case `configure` doesn't find le32toh, byte_conversions.h
defines it. But

Virt-win-reg gives weird error
Hello,
I have just compiled the libguestfs version 1.34.2.
When I run virt-win-reg vm-1051-disk-1.qcow2 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce' "Test"="c:\\Users\Administrator\test.bat” I get the following error:

[PATCH v4 0/5] hivex: handle corrupted hives better.
The following patches address issues when dealing with hives that have
corrupted data in them but are otherwise readable/writable. Those were
found on some rather rare Windows installations that seem to work fine
but current hivex fails to even open.
Those patches change hivex to simply log and ignore such "corrupted"
regions instead of aborting because the caller might be looking at

Re: Hivex - Trailing garbage at the end of hive file
(Resending since my message from 2 days ago didn't make it to the list.
Perhaps because of the log file attachment)
Hi Rich,
Sorry about the delayed response. I understand that since hive formats are
not open, the current tack of warning about the hive file is a better one
To respond to you question about "whether it fails", hivexsh is unable to
open the hive file and it prints

Re: Hivex - Trailing garbage at the end of hive file
Is there a reason why a previous version of hivex ignored this condition
while more recent ones throw an error?
I do have some hive files that are failing (I'm yet to validate if they
are good or were corrupted some other way). I will do so and share my
findings
Thanks

[PATCH hivex 1/2] maint: avoid some syntax-check test failures
Hi Rich,
I've updated hivex to use the latest from gnulib
and fixed a few syntax-check failures.
With these changes, almost all of "make distcheck" succeeds.

Patch to build hivex lib on Windows
Hi
I'm just posting this here in case someone is interested in building
hivex on Windows (mingw32). The attached patch allows building the lib
but not the tools (hivexsh etc..) as there are some more problems to solve.
In short terms, this patch replaces file i/o functions and mmap(),
munmap() with their win32api pendants.
