downloading the registry hive multiple times.
3. (0006) removes vmware run entries in the software hive.
4. (0007) disable the parallel port driver.
5. (0008) is reverting some of the changes in patch

uninstall vmware tools on v2v to kvm?
Hi,
I have tested the windows v2v from esx to kvm with vmware-tools installed
on the guest.
There is an issue, a message on first login after boot that tell the user
that one or more
services failed to start. In the system event log there are 3 errors. Two
of them are tool
services and one is the parallel port driver service.
Disabling the services (setting start mode 4 in the registry)

Possible issue with virt-v2v writing to wrong Windows registry control set
I may have stumbled across a virt-v2v bug.
I just did a successful virt-v2v migration of a Windows 2008 server from
an ESXi host to a RHEV environment. While the VM was still on the ESXi
side, I removed its VMWare tools and rebooted it just make sure it was
still functional. Then I shut it down and V2V'd and imported it into
RHEV.
When I first powered up the new RHEV copy, it

Thanks. I managed to test it now, and it does appear to
fix the problem, so I pushed this commit upstream.

Uninstall registry key the same for all versions (PR#10746)

The uninstall key in the Windows Registry

[PATCH NOT TO BE APPLIED] v2v: windows: Make registry changes to all ControlSets, not
[Partly using the mailing list as a backup again ...]
This commit changes virt-v2v to make registry changes to all ControlSets,
not just the CurrentControlSet.
Not sure what difference if any this would make.

Problem: "Please use registry key HKEY .."
I was able to run a very simple program (Mike Lawrence's Counting At
Bridge) with wine although I got symbols for books rather than Spades,
Hearts, etc.
It no longer works. Wine brings up a blank window with usual File Book
Options Help banner. The only choice for File is exit and, if this is
chosen, the window closes and wine reports exited with favorable status.
After this exit the

importing windows registry keys
Hi.
I've exported some keys from Windows XP Profs' registry and am trying to
import them into the wine registry.
When i run
$regedit <regfile>
as is suggested in a posting to the crossover-office-ml I get
wine: Unhandled exception (thread 0009), starting debugger...
The debugger complains

When I just run regedit without an

[PATCH 0/2] Tool to merge regedit files into Windows Registry hives
This is part 1 (updated) and part 2 of the three part patch set to
provide tools for merging Windows Registry entries in the 'regedit'
textual format.

Using the low-level hivexregedit tool I was able to merge the registry
entries described in the following article into an existing 'system'
registry hive file:

Using libguestfs and the python bindings to inspect VMs. Fairly
successfully for the most part, but had one Windows image today that fails
in the following manner.
File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/guestfs.py", line 910, in

Using regional settings from windows registry
Hi,
On our web pages, we would like to show all dates and times in the
format defined on the server''s registry. The rails application will be
installed in different countries, hence we want to cater to all types
date and time formats by picking it from the registry.
The formats used in the registry are such as M/d/yyyy, whereas the Time
class in Ruby uses formats such as %m/%d/%Y.
