[PATCH libguestfs] build: die early if we lack ocaml, ocamlfind or ocaml-xml-light
It was a pain to diagnose a build failure due to the lack of ocaml-xml-light. With this change, autogen.sh will diagnose it for you. If there end up being more than that one required ocaml package, I'd change things to factor out the literal string in the diagnostic. >From abc8363ef71809bd0986b752465ca6f65660ca4c Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Jim Meyering <meyering at redhat.com>

[PATCH libguestfs] build: make autogen.sh update .git-module-status, as it should
I ran autogen.sh, but then make was always failing like this: $ make cfg.mk:141: *** gnulib update required; run ./autogen.sh first. Stop. "make distcheck" failure
Hi Rich, I ran these commands as non-root: ./autogen.sh && make && make distcheck It got most of the way through, but failed in the VPATH part while rebuilding from a ./_build subdir, like this: make[4]: Entering directory `/h/j/w/co/hivex/hivex-1.3.6/_build/ocaml' mkdir -p /usr/lib64/ocaml mkdir -p /usr/lib64/ocaml/stublibs ocamlfind install \

GNOME + Firefox - Mouse froze - what key combination to revive?
Earlier, I was using GNOME and Firefox and the Mouse died. I had to kill the power, to get the box going again, because it doesn't have a reset switch; which is *not* an elegant way to get going. What key combination would get me going or to a shell? CentOS 5, fully updated, 32 bit. TIA!

Revive support for HP PowerTrust?
Hi everyone. I'm currently looking for a monitoring program for a HP PowerTrust UPS (A2998A) for Linux. It seems that nut supported these UPSs until version 1.4.3. What was the reason for the driver being removed from nut? Are there plans to reintegrate it? I was playing around with the UPS and put the results here: http://www.project-athlon.org/wiki/index.php/HP_PowerTrust_A2998A They

Patch to revive tmpfiles
This is a patch to fix one annoyance of having rsync processes race: I usually keep our servers synced with the following script, run by cron. #!/bin/sh lockfile -r 2 -l 1000 /tmp/synchome.lock || exit 1 rsync -e ssh -avHP --delete zorro01:/home/\* /home >/dev/null rm -f /tmp/synchome.lock -- Sometimes my users (including myself) are in a hurry and syncronise files and directories in their

[PATCH] build: add simple custom silent rules for automake
Add makefile variables to enable silent rules for simple command invocations, such as ocamlc, ocamlopt, javac, and erlc. Re: enable build for ocaml bytecode
I believe this patch has now been superseded by Hilko's commit here: https://github.com/libguestfs/libguestfs/commit/f75142c577255b30f2a8e1d27baa5fd185594197 Rich. -- Richard Jones, Virtualization Group, Red Hat http://people.redhat.com/~rjones Read my programming blog: http://rwmj.wordpress.com Fedora now supports 80 OCaml packages (the OPEN alternative to F#)

[PATCH] Add tune2fs support to libguestfs.
At the moment OpenStack uses kpartx and nbd to resize filesystems and inject files to guests. I sincerely hope they don't allow untrusted users to upload guest images / AMIs :-( To fix this I'm looking into adding libguestfs support as an optional backend in OpenStack. The only missing feature in libguestfs is the ability to call tune2fs on a filesystem. This patch series adds tune2fs

Ocamlfind can't find hivex
<https://github.com/Chocrates> Apologies if this is the wrong list, I initially opened a github ticket before reading that github isn't the right spot. Trying to compile libguestfs and in the process need to get hivex compiled and installed. Hivex compiles and installs fine (I think), but ocamlfind doesn't seem to pick up hivex after the install causing the autogen.sh script in
