Mac OS X 10.5 compatibility?
I was wondering if Wine lost 10.5 compatibility, or if any of the few people out there with it have noticed a problem.
Up through 1.3.25 it seems to compile and work fine.
On 1.3.26 and 1.3.27 the compile will fail with errors about a bunch of symbols in msxml3.dll.so that are not found.
Building 1.3.26 and 1.3.27 on 10.6 or 10.7 using a 10.5 SDK it will build fine and still work on 10.6 and

wine+wineasio under mac os x 10.6
I've been using JackWASIO and 10.5 Leopard fine, but since I switched to Snow Leo 10.6 I can't find a way to use wineasio low latency driver at all. Have tried to install some version of Wine (that comes with WineBottler) and a new CrossOver Games 8.0 but no luck: wineasio doesn't appear in the Audio preferences of winecfg. Is there a clear way (for someone who aren't in developing

how to run my R code in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard
Hi,
I have a question in running R 2.4.1 in the Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.
I write all my R code without using any packages in R. When I run it in Windows system, it runs smoothly and correctly.
Then I try to run the same code in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. I just copy the script file on the desktop of the Mac OS X. I find I can open the file directly as a text file.
To run R in Mac OS X, I type

mounting a CentOS 5.5-based NFS partitions from a Mac OS X machine
Hello listmates,
Yes, I know - Macs and NFS do not co-exist easily. Still I've got to
make this happen somehow.
In short - we have two CentOS-based NFS servers. They work fine with a
variety of Linux machines but when I try to mount them from a Mac OS X
10.5 or 10.6 machine I get nowhere. I.e., the Mac does not complain
yet reads nothing over the NFS.
Has anybody seen this? Does anybody

the state of wine under Mac Os X
Lately I've tried running some games under Snow Leopard, 10.6.4 to be precise, most of them being pre-Direct X 8 games, mainly for nostalgia reason.
Most of these games had no big problems running under Ubuntu 10.10 32bit, and being used to run Wine under Mac Os for some legacy work-related application, I thought It would have been pretty straightforward to run such games under Snow Leopard.

Re: Installing NWN on MacOS 10.5
Xquartz problems is one reason in Wineskin Engines I have a custom built version of Xquartz... it doesn't use your systems installed X11 or Xquartz version... much like Crossover builds in their own X server as well.
As to getting it to work in Wineskin... the NWN wrapper I made that is around comes with directions on how to get the game inside of it... then its just a mac app. Its not

Enabling 16bit DOS on MAC?
I've been reading around, so I found this solution (on another topic here) for enabling DOS support on Macs with wine, something having to do with "patching the linker". Can anybody either explain this in simple terms, or point me towards a guide for doing this?

For Mac OS X users... Xquartz and RandR.
Just as a note.. Xquartz is going to have RANDR capabilities in Xquartz 2.6.0, thanks to the work of Jeremy Huddleston and Jan Hauffa.
Right now on Macports if you install xorg-server-devel it will be a build with what is currently in of RandR... its still not totally finished, but it would be nice if some Mac Users could test how it works so far with Wine... if we find bugs now, it could help

Wine on Snow Leopard: dumbed-down help needed
Hi, all. I just got a fresh new hard drive on my white MacBook and installed Snow Leopard (10.6). I was a happy Wine user when I had 10.5, but now I can't get Wine to install. First I tried to install wine-devel with Macports, which failed because it couldn't find the 32-bit Freetype libraries. I then downloaded the latest source and did the whole "./configure" and

Hi everyone,
I am trying to install R-2.6 over my 2.5.1 installation on Mac OS X

On the "Installation Type" dialog screen, all four options are grayed
out, with skip beside them. The Install button is also grayed out.

[LLVMdev] LLVM-GCC builds on OS X 10.5, fails on 10.6
Hi,
For months now I've been building LLVM-GCC on a Mac OS X laptop without problems. Recently I switched to a different laptop, and I can no longer build LLVM-GCC. (LLVM itself builds fine on both platforms.) The build commands I'm using are identical, and I always start from a clean unpack of the version 2.8 tarball. However, the old laptop ran OS X 10.5 while the new one runs OS X

how to convert a data.frame to a list of dist objects for individual differences MDS?
I have a 45 x 16 data frame consisting of dissimilarities among 10
colors, giving in each
column the 45 = 10*9/2 pairwise judgments for one of 16 subjects. The
rownames
identify each pair of colors, e.g, "AC" = ("A","C"), and the pairs are
ordered by columns
in the lower triangle of each distance matrix.

Mac OS 10.6 : CDROM_Verify
I try to run a game (ISS3) with Wine on Snow Leopard (Mac OS 10.6).
The installation seemed to end correctly, but when I run the software, a message tells me "no disk inserted".
In the same time I get in the terminal the following message :
fixme:cdrom:CDROM_Verify not implemented for non-linux
fixme:ntdll:server_ioctl_file Unsupported ioctl 2d4800 (device=2d access=1 func=200 method=0)
