Wine wants OpenGL for everything... then fails
Wine is hosed on my Ubuntu Edgy install. It was working fine on Dapper, and I'm not sure if I tested Wine since upgrading to Edgy last month. Anyway, no matter what I try to run I get something like this (running notepad in this example) and the program fails to launch: $ notepad wine: creating configuration directory '/home/dit/.wine'... Direct rendering disabled on intel i965 (Morrowind&Debian)

My architecture is amd64, the graphics card is an Intel i965 and I am using wine 1.3.24 from http://dev.carbon-project.org/debian/wine-unstable My problem is that Morrowind runs really slow, around 5-10 FPS, completely unplayable. I tried setting LIBGL_DRIVERS_PATH=/usr/lib32/dri but that didn't make a difference. Running it with/without

OpenGL problems with X terminal over VNC
I normally run my linux box without a monitor, with an X terminal running on a PC (I actually use WinAxe, not VNC). The box has no fancy graphics and no audio. I've just installed wine, and my app runs fine if I attach a monitor (apart from the odd 'fixme', which I assume is expected). However, if I run it over WinAxe, I get lots of these messages: Xlib: extension

Bad performance in games
Hi! I have managed to get games like Team Fortress 2 and Mirror's Edge to finally run. But only with really bad performance. If I run glxinfo | grep direct in the terminal, I get: Code: direct rendering: No (LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT set) However, if I run sudo glxinfo | grep direct, it outputs this: Code: direct rendering: Yes I'm not sure if that is relevant, but it seems a bit odd.

Need help getting Sonic CD to work.
First things first: I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 and Wine 1.0. (according to wine --version). The app: Sonic CD, retail (the newest) version. You can find a legal copy of the demo http://www.download.com/Sonic-CD/3000-2099_4-10004176.html?hhTest=1&tag=lst-1&cdlPid=859962 here. I believe it works the same as the retail version. At least, I had the same problems with it. A person made a patch
