Centos 6.5 - Fping - SE Linux - Missing type enforcement (TE) allow rule
Hi gents,
I seem to have a small issue with fping and Observium(a monitoring
solution). The particular VPS I'm using does have SELinux enabled and it
seems to be causing issues when the httpd process is attempting to use
Fping?
Here is what I know so far :

using fping to find missing A records
I have a specific question on how to do something, and a larger question
addressing other "better" ways to do the spirit of what I'm asking.
I'm setting up Nagios, and am trying to make sure that all of the subnets
have A records, as IP addresses will be changing very, very rapidly, and
when that day comes, I will not be here (but on another Nagios project).
So, I'd like to

Default ICMP rate limiting changes from 5.4 to 6.x?
Hello all,
I'm trying to figure out why my smokeping installation using fping
probes now seems to get periodic loss. It's very minor and only
affects the fping probe type. Without centering too much on smokeping
details, was there any sort of default rate limiting changed in the
ICMP settings going from FreeBSD 5.4 to 6.0? The problem happens
across every monitor and started exactly

Updated version attached with all your feedback, and others, hopefully fixed.
No applogies needed, attention to the details is always great. How often does documentation get the short shrift that we would never think of giving to code ;)

AT&T Researchers and the New York Times
Is anyone in the leadership of the R-project going to contact the New
York Times and clarify that the article gave remarkably short shrift
to the people who designed the user interface for R, to a large extent
AT&T researchers from an earlier generation? It would be the
appropriate thing to do.
The R team did not develop the user interface for R, the designers of
the S programming language

help with regexp
Dear list memebers,
I am stuck with using regular expressions.
Imagine I have a vector of character strings like:
test <- c('filename_1_def.pdf', 'filename_2_abc.pdf')
How could I use regexpressions to extract only the 'def'/'abc' parts of these strings?
Some try from my side yielded no results:

request for hosting ( London, UK )
Hi Chaps,
A couple of Sun Netra t105 have been donated to the CentOS Project. The machines
are located in London and I was wondering if anyone in the area might be able to
host these machines for us ?
They come with 19" rack rails. We would need access to some - but not a whole
lot of - bandwidth. We plan on using these machines in developer roles, for code
testing and sandbox builds.

Queue Member relationship and AstDB
I need clarification on couple of issues of Realtime Queue.
It seems that when Agents(Memebers) are added using AddQueueMember, Asterisk
puts this Queue-Member relationship information into AstDB, So that on
asterisk restart this can be preserved.
My question is, why does asterisk not store call information for Queue
(holdtime, talktime, W, C, A, SL%) in AstDB, So that it can also be retained

username map file to link Domain groups to user
Morning to all,
Question: is it possible to use the username map file to link a domain
group - as supplied by wbinfo -u with a sigle local (/etc/passwd) user,
so that only domain memebers of that group can access a particular
share, but from the shares point of view it is accessed by the same
user?
Cheers,
Boris
