migrating windows applications by packing wine+app in a deb?
Hello, I recently posted my experimental thoughts in the playonlinux forums, but I really want to open all possible channels to get feedback for the idea to deliver a complete (for the certain windows-app optimized) wine-structure, windows app and all nessassary wrapper scripts for processing the app in a deb. This would mean that every single application(-group) brings its own fitting

PHP Manager examples
Anyone have any example scripts in PHP that connect to the manager? I'm not really a much of a programmer so I could use boost. Once I can figure out how to get it to login properly, I'll be ok from there. Thanks, Kevin _____________________________________________________________ Are you a Techie? FWD codecs?
Hi. There is not much info on the FWD site about this. What codecs do they use? When I try to connect with X-Lite, it works with GSM. When I try to call out with *, it wants G729. I have disallow=all and allow=gsm in the sip.conf. I end up getting errors: Unable to find a path from G729A to GSM Unable to find a path from GSM to G729A What's up with that? I was able to make a call once

Hi. I just tried updating asterisk and I guess I broke something. Here's the log: Unable to find a path from G729A to SLINR Unable to find a path from ULAW to G729A Any ideas on what I should try? I tried nuking all the zaptel stuff in the system and the source and started over agian. Also nuked the asterisk config files.... I saw this asked once before but there was no reply :-/

Running legacy batch files
I have several batch files from my windows installation that I've been using for many years, and I wonder what's the best way to transfer them to a Linux machine, without having to rewrite them as shell scripts. Some of these batch files call DOS programs and some call Win32 console programs. Unfortunately I have a few that has calls to both a DOS and a Win32 console program. The problem

app_queue bug with call transfer
--- Jonathan Tew <jonathan@ultracart.com> wrote: We've got the app_queue configured to supposedly allow for a call to be transferred. When the call comes in and an agent answers it (using X-Lite Pro) and then decides to transfer the call (using the SIP phone interface) they get disconnected from their call and after left logged in to the queue system. Obviously we're doing

print directly on another computer's LPT
how do i print directly to another computer's LPT port? printing via GDI is no problem. i have application that must print directly to LPT ports on several computers. on local printer, there's no problem, but i can't access LPT port on another computer. in windows, i could simply map it to LPT2, and use the LPT2 "net use LPT2: \\servername\printername" or in my

Is there a difference ...?
Doh123, how is running a program off an NTFS partition asking for trouble? Ntfsprogs seems to handle it just fine. I know that NTFS doesn't let you mark a file as executable, and that the filesystem is susceptible to fragmentation, but you should just be able to tell it to run rather than display and be good. It shouldn't cause destruction. I think there might even be an NTFS defrag tool

Gnophone URL
Sorry, this is a re-post. I sent the message from the wrong e-mail address. I was checking up on the cvs changes. Hi. I just tried setting up the send url function of Queue app, but it did not seem to work with gnophone. I must have missed something. It never tries to go to the page. I have this in extensions.conf: exten => 1,3,Queue(support,t,http://www.yahoo.com) It shows in the

Wine doesn't work with any application running from CD / DVD
I'm using wine (1.1.37) in Ubuntu Karmic and I can't install original software from a CD/DVD. Set-up.exe won't run because I need "Administrator privileges" or I need to be logged as an administrator. I've searched exhaustively for a solution, but I have only found more and more people complaining about the same problem when trying to run either a game or any other

things I miss in wine
Hi there, there are many issues in wine and you can work around most of them somehow but there are few that you can not bypass. Copy Protection: wine seems to support a few copy protection systems, but not all. No of course you could say that a nocd crack should be used to work around that issue, but what if there is none available? Many games are done for different countries in different

viewing Postscript file
Is there any R function that can display a Postscript file that is already in the working directory? For example, if 'graph.ps' is such a file, I'd like to type something like this: > plot.postscript.file(file = 'graph.ps') If no such function exists, I'd be interested in a way to use existing R functions to do this under UNIX or Windows, preferably without a system
