rtcw under wine
hi,
i'm wondering if there is any way to turn on support for GL extensions..
rtcw is running under wineX with no probs, but if i turn on GL extensions
in the options menu, the graphics look distorted.. (just like they did look
under native-linux-q3 without having installed the NVIDIA GLX modules).
is there already support for the GL extensions under wine?
thx in advance,
ciao, bastian

Get an old game to run
Hi,
I'm trying to start an old (released in 2001) game Startopia under the
latest (0.9.27) Wine. It plays some intro videos, flashes loading
screen for a moment and the whole screen turns white and the process
quits in a several seconds. The output from console is as follows:

Problem compiling R 2.1.* on SUSE 9.2
I have been unable to compile either R 2.1.0 or 2.1.1 under SUSE 9.2. The
system simply hangs as far as I can tell. All key board and mouse
service dies. I have had no problem compiling earlier versions of R through
2.0.1, aside from remembering to include readline in the configuration.
Configure runs without any warnings except that Info or html versions of the
R Manuals. The SUSE 9.2

Should I dump my Nvidia card from the less known brand "Gainward"?
Hi everyone.
I'm a big Free Software enthusiast and, therefore, I would very much like to use the nouveau free driver, instead of the proprietary one.
My problem is that, looking for the cheapest option available, when I needed to buy a new graphics card, 2 years ago, I decided for a model from a brand that I had never heard of - called "Gainward" - because I thought it had a

Fatal server error: DMA queue hang
Greetings.
I have an aging GeForce4 MX ( integrated ). I just updated to
Ubuntu-8.10 without considering the consequences of moving to
xserver-1.5. Needless to say I won't be using Compiz for a while now ...
So I've tried to get nouveau drivers running ( I've been watching the
project, but mainly waiting for a release ... now my hand has been
forced ). I used the packages for Ubuntu

Two problems
Hello, I have two problems:
1) Identify my card
2) Error message at dumping
1) It seems to me that I have a special version of the GeForce4 420 Go
32M because my card is a GeForce4 440 Go 64M but both have the same PCI
device id. Is this important for the development of the renouveau driver
or is this already noted?

Wine performance drops hard on popup notification
Ubuntu 10.4 32bit
I've tried Ubuntu proprietary drivers, and latest Nvidia drivers 256.53 or something. (gpu = evga 8600 gts 256mb)
Wine versions 1.2 and up all have my issue
When I run Steam games windowed or fullscreened, they run amazing. Until I get a skype/pidgin/rythmbox/email notification popup, at which point the steam app drops dramatically in performance. (1 different frame every 10
