mmdevapi:MMDevEnum_Create OpenAL support not compiled in
Hello I am trying out a game called Dark Void. It works, installation, and gameplay but the sound does not. When I run it I get the following message: err:mmdevapi:MMDevEnum_Create OpenAL support not compiled in, application will not find sound devices WINE has been compiled with the parameters or flags (don't know which is the correct word): ./configure --prefix=/usr \

OpenAL mmdevapi Sound
Curious, currently I compiled the wine-pulse patches into wine for my sound (had issues with alsa/wow but pulse works great). He mentions on his page about it being made redundant by a future wine build that will have mmdevapi with OpenAL or something. Was wondering when this was coming down the pike, unless it's already made it, and if it has how do i enable it. -- Sincerely, MacNean C.

Natural Selection 2 (engine test) + wine 1.1.43
I usually don't mess with wine -- the program either works or it doesn't. That being said, I would like to get this game to run if possible. This is the output from console. It says that openal-soft needs to be upgraded to v1.12 but I'm at v1.12.854-5.1. Any help is appreciated. Stick on installation: winecfg not found
Hi, I followed the installation instruction step by step with the wine 1.3.13 package. I stick at point 3.1 user guide: using winecfg. If I input /usr/local/bin/winecfg or only winecfg in the wine-1.3.13 directory, the error message -bash: winecfg: command not found appears. There is a directory winecfg under wine-1.3.13/programs/ but no executable files. The wine package is installed under

AudioSurf - Runtime error
Hello, Just trying to get Audiosurf to work under wine 1.3.8. I'm running 64-bit GNU/Linux with 32-bit wine (64-bit Wine Prefix). When I launch Audiosurf everything goes well and it loads up to the main screen. I choose my character, and then move onto the song selection. I head to "My Documents" (/home/user) and pick a .mp3 out of there. The the game heads to the loading screen,

No sound on Debian Squeeze after building from source
I'm running on Debian Squeeze and I am unable to get sound working after building wine from source. I'm running on wine version 1.3.34 and problems seem come from the mmdevapi dll file. Anytime I run an application that tried to use sound (including winecfg) I get: Code: err:mmdevapi:DllGetClassObject Driver initialization failed err:ole:apartment_getclassobject DllGetClassObject

Pulse audo in 1.3.25+
So I used to use the winepulse patch for wine. (Yes I like pulse). But since 1.3.25+ uses mmdevapi for audio, that patch no longer works. That author points to a wine multimedia git, however, after installing that I have no more sound in any wine application, and the winecfg test audio says audio failed. How do I get this new sound server working in wine? -- Sincerely, MacNean C. Tyrrell

Mac OS X 10.5 compatibility?
I was wondering if Wine lost 10.5 compatibility, or if any of the few people out there with it have noticed a problem. Up through 1.3.25 it seems to compile and work fine. On 1.3.26 and 1.3.27 the compile will fail with errors about a bunch of symbols in msxml3.dll.so that are not found. Building 1.3.26 and 1.3.27 on 10.6 or 10.7 using a 10.5 SDK it will build fine and still work on 10.6 and

Fallout New Vegas no longer working
All, in 1.3.26 F:NV won't go into the game after you select new game or continue. The circle "loading" screen appears but then then stops and that's it. There are no errors in the console as well beyond what you normally get in 1.3.24. So before I run some regression tests if I get the time I was hoping to find out the debug channels I should load to see what's going on?

Mouse movement only in some directions
Hi, my mouse doesn't work correctly in many games (not all). I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 and the wine1.3 (from the launchpad package). This concerns Need for Speed 2, Star Trek Bridge Commander and some others. In Star Trek Bridge Commander the mouse doesn't seem to have a right x-axis and I'm not able to click on anything. Using the Keyboard to move the cursor won't do as well. In

wxruby2 swig retooling "complete"
I just re-integrated fixdeleting.rb, the last of the post-processors. Running minimal.rb no longer segfaults on exit. Running dialogs.rb and immediately exiting doesn''t segfault, but bringing up a dialog and then exiting does. So there are still memory problems, but fewer than yesterday :-/ I''m not sure how it compares to last week. I probably won''t have much time

Mouse still not working properly on OS X with 1.4
This has been an ongoing issue with all of the 1.4 releases. In several games, notably Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout:NV, and Far Cry, the mouse will not function properly. On main menus, the mouse will be stuck in one quadrant of the screen, as if what the mouse thinks the screen boundaries are is not aligned with the actual boundaries. In game, the mouse swings wildly all over the screen,
