regression and dw
Dear R People:
Suppose we have a regression model that we will call
y.lm
We run the Durbin Watson test for autocorrelation
and we find that there is positive autocorrelation,
and phi = 0.72, say.
What is our next step, please?
Do we calculate the following
yprime_t = y_t - 0.72y_t-1,
x1prime_t = x1_t - 0.72x1_t-1,
and so on, and re-fit the linear mode?
I haven't done this in a while.

dw statistic
Hello Uwe
First, I want to thank you for spending your time replying to my mail. I'm
very impressed with the speed that my question was answered.
I'm new at R (about two weeks) and reading your mail made me realize that it
was indeed a question of vectors of different lengths. I thinked that I
could create a function ("carfun") without creating a "x" vector, since

write.csv
hallo,
i have a problem by writing a csv file
the first colum is filled with index numbers from 1 to n.
i have to unique two csv files once a week while one file is always the
same.
can anybody tell me, how to write the dataset into a csv file without the
first row of the indexnumbers.
x[,-1] does not wok as it eliminates the first "interesting" colum.

Your opinion: What's the best VM for Samba DC's
Hi all,
I know this isn't strictly Samba related, but I have a fileserver and want
to install some VM software on it so I can build a new Samba DC on there
and still keep the fileserver running.
In your experience, what's the best VM to install?
Are there any which wok better or worse with Samba? Does it make any
difference?
I'm running Ubuntu 20.04.1
Thanks!

ifmem.c32
Hello,
This module can be used to select the files to boot according to the
memory size:
http://hg.slitaz.org/wok/raw-file/d5f670b08670/syslinux/stuff/extra/ifmem.c
Usage:
kernel ifmem.c32

Slitaz webboot (http://boot.slitaz.org/) uses it in the main configuration

Ugh on new bios.
Just so others know. On my EVGA motherboard the option to boot
removable media didn't work on my usb flash drive with syslinux on it.
Yesterday I tried updating the version of syslinux and seeing if that
would wok. Frustrated with it not working I moaned and groaned and my
brother decided to look for options in the bios that I might have
missed. He couldn't find anything. But I decided to

share without authentication - how?
Wanna share a dir to win clients so that they can just map it locally without
providing any password or login or whatsover.
So far I'm at:
[foo]
path = /mnt/foo
guest ok = Yes
security = share
public = yes
writable = yes
force user = dexter
Still won't work, asks for auth.

Hi
From reeBSD 9.3-RELEASE amd64:
Compiles ok
Installs ok
On startup 1: Error about new config settings (adjusted)
On startup 2: doveadm(root): Error:
net_connect_unix(/var/run/dovecot//stats-writer) failed: Connection refused
It seems to work so far. I get messages from fetchmail being delivered
to the mailbox, yet that stale error is there. Quick search did not
showed any results.

gpxelinux feature request
Hi All,
A while back there was some mention that gpxe may acquire the
ability to receive command-line parameters. I'd dearly love if
this could become a reality.
It would be fantastic if we could have a pxelinux menu config
as follows:
KERNEL gpxelinux.0
APPEND config http://someserver.net/gpxe-for-this-box.cfg
This would solve a huge number of our problems since we
don't have the

Okay, I was hoping it has something to do with where I am stuck compiling.
Could you kindly share your configure options? Mine which has always worked
with Dovecot versions prior to 2.3 is refusing to work on FreeBSD i386.

Find reason for heavy load
My Centos 5 server has seen the average load jumped through the roof
recently despite having no major additional clients placed on it.
Previously, I was looking at an average of less than 0.6 load, I had a
monitoring script that sends an email warning me if the current load stayed
above 0.6 for more than 2 minutes. This script used to trigger perhaps once
an hour during peak periods. Even so, I

Dovecot Oy merger with Open-Xchange AG
I find it extremely interesting that no one has commented on the merger
of Dovecot Oy and Open-Xchange AG as announced by Timo on the 19th. Is
this something that was known a long time ago and I missed? OK checked
the on-line archive of the mailing list, no comments there - its not my
email set-up - LOL.
I am usually emotionally (at least) against of open-source projects
