Re: Uninstall Windows Apps?
I'm not talking about menu items. I know that menus are not stored in wine related folders. The problem, as I've mentioned above is that when try to install visual studio 2005 it finds some prerequisites already installed (like .net 2.0 or windows installer 3.1) and stop the install with the message that another (trial) version of this product (VisualC2005) is already installed and must

Uninstall old wine version and install new version
I did a forum search and found 16 pages for uninstalling wine. Only one was semi-helpful. What I got was: > > [Bakshara at Bakshara ~]$ rmdir ~/.wine > rmdir: failed to remove `/home/Bakshara/.wine': Directory not empty > What do I need to do? I want to uninstall wine 1.1.24 and install 1.1.26. I currently only have three apps installed. So any thing I will loose will be easy

Re: Uninstall Windows Apps?
Normal user. The only change I've made to the logged in user since that user was created during kubuntu install was to add it to "disk" groups. So the steps I've made are: 1. Into a new kubuntu computer I've installed wine1.2 using terminal, then sudo su, then apt-get install .... 2. I've installed VisualC2005 with winetricks I've started from the menu, as the

Wine apps load from Ubuntu application munu but not from cli
Hey, I have just installed civilization IV and it's expansions in wine. After doing the required workarounds to make it run correctly it seems to work quite well. However, I have come to realize that I am only able to launch it when using the automatic added menu entry in the wine folder Ubuntu menu. I have reviewed the command being executed and tried the command copied from the launcher

Bash Script Shorcuts for Steam Games
Hi there, I was just wondering how I would go about creating a bash script for Steam apps. I just started college in Pre-Biochem. and Pre-Comp. Sci. so I'm not far enough in yet (and midterms are coming up, how embarrassing) but the point is, I don't know how to create a bash script for steam apps. I know they start up steam first, then log in, and then get into the game. I'm not

Is there any way to completely

How Do I Get Windows Apps To Open With Correct WINEPREFIX
I'm having difficulty finding a solution to this problem. I installed Office 2007 to a different WINEPREFIX (export WINEPREFIX=~/.office2007). However, when I right click on... oh let's say a .doc file and click Open With Microsoft Word it creates the the default ~/.wine directory and tries to open the .doc from that directory but obviously there are not any Office 2007 apps installed in

Applescript and .exe?
Hi there! I've used Wine a couple of years ago when I used Ubuntu as OS. Nowadays I have a Mac and recently installed Wine on it. My question is, how do I fix so that I don't have to use the terminal to start an .exe program? Just enter a script in Applescript, save it as an application and start it through that? I've googled and found some scripts but none of them works for me.

WINEPREFIX ?
I have seen posts regarding WINEPREFIX so that Windows programs can be installed elsewhere than in the default .wine/drive_c/... folder. I have 2 or 3 Windows programs in the default folders which I run under Wine, and another program (Serif PagePlus 11) also in the default folder that does not run and I want to uninstall. Wine uninstall does not work for this program. I gather I can uninstall by

Elite Force 2 Shortcut
Managed to get Elite Force 2 installed (had help from here actually) and the game plays fine. When I launch it directly from EF2.exe that is. I have had no luck creating a shortcut however. Every time I try (entering the correct command line) I simply get the following. > Elite Force II 1.0 win-x86 May 24 2003 > ----- FS_Startup ----- > Current search path: > Z:\home\griff/base
