Wine can't find c drive!
Hi,
I am trying to run a game (Touhou 7) on a mac using wine. I installed wine using macports and used the command $ wine $th07e.exe to run my installer
it then gives me this message:
wine: cannot find L"C:\\windows\\system32\\.exe"
I read elsewhere that i should type winecfg and create a fake c drive. But when I look in my drives menu, there is already one labeled c. Why can't

How to make C drive to point to /usr/share/wine-c
Hello,
I want the C drive to be pointing to /usr/share/wine-c instead of
./drive_c by default, without modifying in the config file. That is on
typing the command "wine" itself , "dosdrives" in .wine directory
should contain the symlink to /usr/share/wine-c for "C" drive.
Where should I edit for that, so that i get the C drive pointing to
/usr/share/wine-c by

Hello SYSLINUX,
I have been searching for a resource for the "Disk error" messages
coming out of isolinux.
I am seeing the message "isolinux: Disk error 20, AX=425 c, drive

comes in contact with touchy LITE-ON DVD/RW Drives attempting to load

wine cannot find L "c:/windows/system32/plugplay.exe
I'm running Wine1.2.2 on Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid). In my file manager, I can get to the /.wine/drive_c folder, so I know it exists in my file system. However, when I open the Wine Configuration window (either via apps/wine/configuration or via terminal (winecfg), on the Drives tab it shows
C: ../drive_c
D: /media UDISK
(and a few other drives).
However, the C drive

How do I pass parameters to my program when using WINE?
Hello,
I'm trying to figure out the proper way of passing parameters to my program
that is being run by WINE. I've been trying different things I've found in
Google, but none have seemed to work yet. The parameters work in a Windows
environment, so I do believe the program is okay. This is on a SUSE/SLES 9
machine using WINE .917. If I want to pass the parameter

Does Wine only work when Windows is on Drive C:?
I have a couple of triple boot systems. On each, Windows is NOT Drive C or Drive C is a useless application like Vista. This system is one where Vista is Drive C. The Vista stuff on drive C conflicts with the XP installation on Drive E.
All the applications I would like Wine to run for me are XP applications on Drive E. There are no Vista applications worth using Wine to run.

How do I install in .wine/drive-c/program files?
I'm still a Newbie to Linux but have been climbing the learning curve for a year - now running LinuxMint 5 (Elyssa) and have installed Wine 1.0.0 which is in /usr/bin with about 20 associated files.
Now I am trying to install a database configured for Windows - a CD of Sussex Marriages. This is displayed under LinuxMint as a list of files, libraries and an executable - which doesn't run

Problem With Wine and .MSI program
Hi folks. I am new to the forums and have only minimal experience with wine. I am trying to convert completely to Ubuntu but have been unable to get a few programs to work. One is a program for downloading audio books from my local library. It is an .msi file. I tried installing it using both the "wine msiexec /i program.msi" command and the "wine start program.msi"

Printer in wine on OS X?
I have installed Wine via macports on my Leopard machine. I have a printer installed on the MAC but apparently this is not using CUPS?
Can someone help me install a printer via cups on the mac and also, how do I get a start menu or somewhere to run my applications without having to run them from a command line?
If this works, I will not be able to have my teachers run apps from a cli. There

It isn't just 32-bit, but also 64-bit, and it isn't just Flash, but
also HTML 5.

Can't find the cd drive
One month ago, I reformatted this drive and loaded suse Linux using a
dvd created from a file downloaded from Novell.
Linux seems to be running fine. But now I need to install a very old
windows program.
I THINK that I have downloaded, installed, and configured wine
correctly.
When I click on Applications, System, Terminal, Gnome Terminal and type
wine, I get a three line instruction that

"Can't find root device" with lvm root after moving drive on CentOS 6.3
I have an 8-core SuperMicro Xeon server with CentOS 6.3. The OS is
installed on a 120 GB SSD connected by SATA, the machine also contains
an Areca SAS controller with 24 drives connected. The motherboard is a
SuperMicro X9DA7.
When I installed the OS, I used the default options, which creates an
LVM volume group to contain / and /home, and keeps /boot and /boot/efi
outside the volume group.

Used mkdiskimage script on wrong drive!
I was trying to setup dsl (damn small linux) to boot off a usb drive. I found my BIOS wasn't booting from it when using a USB-HDD mode so I found a page for using SYSLINUX to set it up in USB-ZIP mode (http://syslinux.zytor.com/usbkey.php).
I made a mistake and (doing exactly what the page warned against not doing) used the mkdiskimage command on the wrong drive (a 230Gb NTFS external

Cannot find Wine Config anymore...
I'm using Ubuntu 10.04. I had been using Wine 1.2.x out of the Ubuntu repos. Wine Config & unistall manager were working fine.
Today I unistalled that and added the Wine ubuntu repository. Then I installed Wine 1.3. But Wine no longer has Winecfg or uninstall manager. Why? How could I get them? :?
