Re: No sound in Wine 1.3.37 (tried known solutions already)
I am experiencing what appears to be this same problem. However, I am already running a self-compiled Wine, so that alone cannot be the solution in this case. I am running 64-bit Debian, tracking testing. I have compiled Wine myself, from git revision b05be807583eca27dc0a4de896ba901bac54088c ("Release 1.4-rc5."). As with the previous report, winecfg reports that it's using

Distorted Graphics in Games.
Hello everyone. I've installed wine in linux mint. and attempted to play some games. I'm getting some weird results with the graphics. An image can explain in the best, so I took a screenshot. When I run the just about any game through wine I get these "fractured" graphics (view attached picture). Fonts are illegible and the graphics themselves are very pointy and have weird

I think I have done everything that people have recommended others to try out, have been googling around for some hours now. My graphic card is: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon HD 4770 [RV740] and I have installed the drivers for it. The funny thing is that my brother uses the exact

Problem with World of Warcraft
I am having great trouble running World of Warcraft, after it has been installed. I copied over all the CD/DVD contents for both WoW and WoW:TBC on to my HDD and installed it, then patched it with Wine without a hitch. However, now when I go to run the game I get the following errors in the console: Code: mothermayi at mmi-desktop:~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/World of Warcraft$ wine WoW.exe

WoW runs *only* as root (openSUSE 11.1, GeForce 8800GTS)
Before I say anything, I should probably say that I do realize that I should not be running wine as root, however for the purpose of debugging I tried it anyways ... and to my surprise found it worked. 1 The situation First of all, this is the same installation, using the same configuration file on the same computer, etc. As a normal user Wow.exe does not even start (note that Launcher.exe does

Wine 1.2rc5 World of Warcraft crash
Hello all, My wife and I just recently went 100% Linux, meaning that we no longer dual boot to Windows for our regular gaming addiction. One of the games we both enjoy is World of Warcraft, and it has so far worked a charm using Wine 1.2rc5 (we started using Wine at 1.2rc3), but today the game was patched, and now it crashes on login. Some data: Wine 1.2rc5 Slackware 13.1 kernel 2.6.33.4 Nvidia

WoW Play Button Not Working - Fix for Linux/Wine??
So this issue is quite common now in WoW launchers from all operating systems, and it's gone and happened to mine. When I open the shortcut on my desktop, the client opens, and when I click on the 'play' button, it closes and nothing comes up. I've read everywhere that if you start it from the WoW.exe link in World of Warcraft folder, it'll automatically open, but when I click

The Wine window has to force the process to stop in order to exit Wine. I'm Using Ubuntu 10.10 with an ATI graphics card. Any ideas?

Wine 1.1.29: sound lost
I've updated to Wine 1.1.29 today, and I've lost sound. Winecfg detect the normal sound output device, but when I launch WOW, don't work (no sound). I'm using Jaunty 9.04. With 1.1.28 all right, and without pulseaudio i don't have any audio devices from output. I've tried, also, to select "emulation" (from Full accelleration) without solve the problem. Where can I

Mouse cursor not visible in World of Warcraft 3.0.9
I'm running Linux Mint 6 "Felicia" and Wine 1.1.18, and I'm trying to get World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King working. I was able to install everything and get it running, but after the intro movie, the mouse cursor is completely invisible. It's still there, as I can mouse over buttons and click them, but I have no idea where the cursor actually is. Every so often,
