Registry override?
I first installed kchmviewer.
I then created the file run_prog:
#!/bin/sh
$1 "`wine winepath -u "$2"`"
I tested by running from a terminal
run_prog kchmviewer c:\MyChmFile.chm
This worked fine
I edited the registry entry for chm.file to
/usr/bin/run_prog kchmviewer %1

Fun Wine Project -- Configure Some Default Registry Entries
I've begun working on this to import some native calls into wine. More
specifically, OpenOffice.org. I'm trying to get Lotus Notes attachments to
display proper icons, and open natively with OOo.
I've come across a dilemma. I can't seem to "easily" open a Windows path,

Internet Explorer installs under wine as default Win2K but then crashes when run...
I want to run Internet Explorer as Win2K at the very least so I might be able
to get updates, trying to keep up with security fixes... this might be a pipe
dream?
I would rather not run anything as Win98 if I can help it...
In any case, what I did was, from a clean install of Wine 0.9 on Fedora Core
4, ran
[user@localhost ~]$ wine

How to run Internet Explorer 6 from existing Windows instalation under Fedora 3 (with wine)
Hi all,
Sorry if I ask something that is answered already, but I am new to this
list.
I need to run IE for testing purposes (unfortunately too many people are
still using Windows and I need to make my web pages Windows compatible).
I have an existing Windows installation, but I do not want to reboot
just to see if a small change in a web page is shown correctly in IE.
I have installed wine, but

Internet Explorer 6 Setup & A

An interesting development:
Running it from the home directory didn't help, but
running it, letting it fail, then running it again
works (regardless of location). The installer
finishes ok, and places all the files in Program
Files/Internet Explorer.

wine iexplore white screen of death
On a fresh Ubuntu, sudo apt-get install wine
wine iexplore yields a white screen of death with a title bar for Wine.
I tried winecfg and tweaking settings, and I can get a desktop with IE WSOD again, so no real progress.
The shell outputs a ton of errors/debug info, pasted below...
What have I done wrong?

Recursive filetype include
Hello,
I have a directory tree that contains many files of type .htm. I don't
want these when I rsync - so I used the option --exclude '*.htm'
There is however, one subdirectory (and all of its subdirectories)
that I would like to include these .htm files.
I tried using many variations of --include 'subdir/*.htm' but this
does not seem to work. It includes the .htm's in

detect filetype (as in unix 'file')
Is there a way in R (in Linux) to detect the type of a file without invoking
a shell? E.g to do this:
> system("file density.plot")
density.plot: PDF document, version 1.4
but without using system()? I tried file() and file.info(), but both do
display the information I am looking for.

Hi all,
I've compiled samba 4 from branches and it worked like a charm.
I'm trying to use regshell to read (remotely) the following Windows registry
key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
I can connect to the remote machine with no problems:
./regshell --remote=192.168.50.142 --user=Administrador%xxx
